Another decent bounce, puck off a dman right to Marleau's stick.

Poor Dano. He worked his tail off on both of those goals and he doesn't get a point out of it.

I think we can most certainly call that a dominating period.

Act, two odd man rushes, one save and one crossbar. For having put up nearly 30 shots, the Wings are lettin' these guys off the hook with only two goals. And there goes Conks.

roflcopter @ Lilja standing in front of the net, banging at the puck. Nice job, Train.

Partially a product of having the puck all the time.

And now Gary will have to explain to his daughter was these big dick commercials are about.

San Jose Sharks @ Boston Bruins

When Savard lost the puck he did a flying leap into the incoming defender, and his prone body blocked off him and the other Shark in the area, giving Wideman time to come down from the point and put it on goal. Like I said, very clever, subtle interference. Aaand Rob Blake proves that it's never a bad idea to shoot the puck.

Subtle interference run by Savard to keep the Sharks' D away from that loose puck in time for Wideman to get it on net. Very clever.

    Media Spin Doctors

Trust me, there's enough room under my umbrella of "stupid topics" to fit those in, too. As it stands, "the media loves Crosby" is far from a new and exciting topic. Brainwashed? You're killin' me with that stuff. Anyways, should I have come in here to nod my head in agreement with you? I'll pass on that. You come in here crying about how Detroit doesn't get enough love from the NHL. Maybe instead of promoting Crosby and Malkin they should just cling onto Hank and Pavel? Then we're right back where we started. The NBAs got LeBron, the NFLs got Peyton, the NHLs got Crosby. That's who they've attached themselves to. And they're all good players. I bet Washington fans would love for there to be a million AO commercials, Jersey fans would think that's a load of s*** and cry out for Brodeur love, and Calgary supporters would roll their eyes because they know Jarome is the league's true superstar. You can't have it every which way.

    Media Spin Doctors

Right, I'm sure you'll come to understand why that was a poor choice if you intend for your thread to be taken seriously. And yeah yeah, the NHL hypes Crosby and the Pens, big deal. If you know and watch the game than you can come to your own conclusions on it, if you don't than it doesn't really matter who you think is the best anyways. These essays are unnecessary, they make you sound like a bigger crybaby than Sid.

It's good that Conklin is getting this start, and honestly I think he should get the next 2-3. By then Ozzie ought to be downright furious at be relegated to the bench and come back with some consistent play to earn his keep.

9/11 conspiracy theories and the NHL go together like... like... uhm.... Coffee and.... sand? I guess that's good enough.

What's good for chantin' in one arena is good for chantin' in another, ought to be the prevailing logic. And seeing as they are French, they probably brought it with them from those terrace chanting hooligans across the pond.

What prick was it from the Preds that hurt Jiri's ACL, and then he turned around walloped him the next time they were on the same sheet of ice together? EDIT: It was Scott Hartnell.

2/8 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Penguins 0

Lost in all this consternation about Crosby and perceived media slights is the fact that the Wings played a damn good hockey game and won. I can't be the only one that tunes out announcers and uses their drone simply to prevent the game from becoming an uncomfortable silence, as opposed to listening intently to make mental notes for every time the other teams' stars are mentioned. If you've heard the tired cliches and boring anecdotes once, you've heard them a thousand times.
