Well, out of that slaughter, maybe the most important news is that Franzen is hurt. He got hit with a shot, didn't he?
-
God, Edmonton is terrible. They have no speed or cohesiveness in the neutral zone.
-
Kronwall is on the ball tonight.
-
Eh, Flipper was turning and fell. Weak call.
-
Agreed, that was some good work. Couldn't quite pull off the move to the slot, but he had the right idea.
-
I'd still be in the locker room after getting my balls rocked like that.
-
At that very moment, the mancrush became very real.

For one, playing with a debilitating injury isn't a prerequisite to being a good leader. And two, Wayne did have back trouble after being hit from behind by Gary Suter in the 1991 Canada Cup. He was never quite the same after that, and he missed the first month of the season recovering, but still managed to finish third in the scoring race (behind Lemieux and his linemate Kevin Stevens). He then missed half of the next season with that bad back, but turned around to lead the playoffs in scoring (notably tallying a hat trick in Game 7 of the Conference Finals) en route to bringing the Kings to the Stanley Cup Finals. He scored 40 points that playoff year and that mark hasn't been reached since.

Milbury said the Wing's goaltending is lacking, Some Guy From The Freep is the one who connected the dots. I'm sure everyone here can sort out the differences between Hasek and Osgood versus Legace in terms of ability and career accomplishments.

Staffan Kronwall claimed by Capitals on waviers.

Pfft, I read this early today. Your chicanery has no effect on me, trickster. -
Has this guy ever legitimately reported a signing or trade? If I realized I could make cash blatantly lying to people and offering no substance, I'd have done this a long time ago. Malkin to Kings!
-
He signed and delivered his own pink-slip after his postseason meltdown, and it had nothing to do with his words. His actions were far, far more powerful than anything he could have said.
-
"GRRR, that'd sure make me upset, Heroes."
-
Man, that'd be a tough break, wouldn't it Jarome?
-
The "Are you serious? ******* idiot." smile and laugh routine is great, I approve.
-
Sarcasm brah.

Nah, Joey Blue Skies was endlessly optimistic. He was a good dude, just not talented enough to be a starting QB, and certainly unable to pull it off surrounded by the team that he was. Manny... egads. I'll never forget it, I was there, near the glass, during Game 2 of the '06 WCQs. I had the best view in the house of Legace reaching and missing an unscreened floating wrister from above the top of the circles. It killed me and it killed the team.
-
Bummer. He won't have much time to get back into form before the playoffs start.
-
You're nuts hating on Gretzky. Yes, it was mistake to retire his number league-wide, but he still was the best.
-
Awesome.
-
His team is fighting for their playoff lives, of course he's gonna be pissed that he got rung up for a call in the last minute of a game, and sure as hell be fired when that call lost him the game. Reverse the situations onto the Wings and I think you'll find it's easier to empathize.
-
Eh, you know what, I'm done being frustrated and upset with this goals against thing. If the Wings can get sixteen 5-4 wins this spring, they can give up as many breakaways and softies as they want. They won this many games so far playing this way, maybe they're onto something?
-
Nah, looked legit to me. Bryzgalov was out of the crease but he still had established his spot on the ice and Helm skated into him. Even though the Wings got scored on I appreciate what Helm was trying to do; he is playing hard and going to the net.
-
Honestly, I don't know what's going on with these guys. Every night its odd-man rushes and breakaways, cross ice passes through the PK box, tonight they left a guy alone in front of the net for a day and a half with no one in sight. Ozzie is plain out playing poorly; for every good save he makes, he's undone by a bad goal. The team played outstanding on offense tonight and didn't have a clue on defense. Lidstrom nails the game winner and I saw him make some pretty awesome (if not subtle) maneuvers at the blue line on the PP, but even he was getting turned around tonight. I don't know how you can have guys out there like Norris Nick, Selke winner/nominee Pavel and Hank, other solid defensive guys like Lilja and Cleary and give up chances like this on a nightly basis.
