Word up. Captain Visor and his dopey sidekick, here to start s*** and take cheapshots when their team is down and out. Their whining and crying should not be misinterpreted as a tough guy act.

Red Wings coaches over the last 15 years have been pretty much universally stoic and achieved great results. If being loud and animated is your thing and it works, right on. If you're more the Scotty Bowman type, that's fine too. No matter how you motivate your team, just do it.

Looks pretty self-explanatory to me. He's saying you should play by the rules.

Proving a negative...? EDIT: I guess I should touch on the rest of this since it's kind of a dick move to jump on the one obvious flaw there and leave the rest alone. From where I see it, if you move Sammy and bring in Leino, and he does score 40ish point, well congratulations, you just made a lateral move. Now instead of having both Sammy and Leino potentially on tap for next year with the Hossa/Franzen/Zetterberg situation as it is, you're down to one. Of course, if he doesn't equal up to Sammy's place, now you've made a big mistake.

I'm of two minds on this. On the one hand, I say more mean-spirited and rotten things every single day and don't feel bad about it, so Avery's words, specifically, don't bother me. The fact that he went out of his way to try and start s*** in front of the media, however, screams of an infantile attention-***** frantically waving his arms and making racket to get anyone and everyone to look his way. All things considered, I would have been OK with whatever happened.

I am greatly amused by this.

Rafalski still seems a bit off the ball to me. He panics and makes hasty decisions along the boards that often leads to turnovers. And he seems to lose the puck an awful lot while playing the point. Lidstron, on the other hand, is rounding back into form nicely. It has been a pleasure to see him play these last couple games.

Eh, they made their fair share; they seemed to struggle mightily against the forecheck but managed to break through by the end for those fluid Red Wings break outs we're used to. In their defense, the Wings are inherently at a disadvantage along the boards; that's the Ducks' specialty. Bend, don't break. They weren't able to win as many puck battles as they'd like, but they didn't surrender any scoring chances as a consequence of it.

True. I'll take the Wings preying on a tired squad instead of vice versa for a change, that's for sure. They did what they should have done, and held a team that probably didn't have a full tank to virtually nothing. Were it not for some rotten luck this probably wouldn't have been close. Ozzie didn't really have anything to do, but I'm glad he was able to get a W with just one goal against.

Amazing, that they suddenly are able to fluidly move the puck out of their zone and down ice. One good pass, and out.

The Wings have two posts, a couple of point blank chances that were stopped, and a breakaway that missed. They've had their chances, they just haven't buried them.
