Disappointing that we won't have another crack at the league's best goalie, but Vancouver's D is still solid. Nevertheless, the Wings should take advantage of the situation, give us a break from the neck-and-neck affairs by putting this one away early and leaving no doubt.

As shown by what? His kickin' rad cup of coffee with the second line to start the year? Again, as evidenced by what? That pass he got from Hank to nail the game-winner last night? Granted, that was an unusual scenario, but the pair play on the PP together, and the so-called second unit featuring the two has been outstanding in recent games.

To this day that remains one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life. Andreas really was in the zone, he was at a level just below Nick. The love was flowing and couldn't be stemmed. Truly, it was a cruel punishment for an unjust universe.

He did his usual puck fumbling and pylon-impersonating, but I'll take a game like that from your 6th Dman. He put in a good effort, laid out some big hits, is suddenly showing a bit of offense (enjoy that while it lasts); I don't think there's much room for complaints, all things considered.

Pretty good game. The offense was pretty stagnant at times, but they still notched four goals. Lilja and Maltby had great games, and Hudler is a man who won't be denied. The defense was alright, they got worked over in the defensive zone by the cycle, but the Flames are very good at that, and in the end for all the time they spent working the puck around they didn't get very many great chances. They got their obligatory "blind wrister through traffic that we managed to build a whole Cup run around this one time" goal but I'm fairly pleased with the effort.
