WAT !!! The person below me's hands are registered as lethal weapons. -
Nah. But if you can't win it all (or in this case, anything ) being a spoiler is the next best thing.

Lidstrom this season has racked up over 400 TOI and 0 PIM

The Wings collectively got off to a poor start defensively, both individually (including Nick, by his lofty standards) and as a unit. They've been getting the motor running again these last couple tilts and I'd say there's plenty of time and opportunity for Nick to recapture the Norris. There's virtually no chance he'll have a shot at the Hart Byng with the way offenses have hit the ground running through the first quarter of the year. -
I was busy for a long time. I recently received my pink slip and am enjoying my time off.
-
thx guyz Total domination from top to bottom. I realize the Oil are not really a top flight opponent, but I enjoyed seeing an overpowering opponent from my Wings nonetheless.
-
It's the same team as last year, plus Hossa and minus Hasek. That's a net gain, yo. The Wings locker room oozes leadership and discipline and class, there's no way ego's got anything to do with anything.
-
Well played, comrade.
-
Yeah, I still can't believe that happened.
-
It would be just fantastic if we completely dominated and won without giving the other team a chance. I am tired of one goal decisions.

Someday, I will escape this frigid hellhole. My children will never even know what snow looks like.
-
Some guy from the Internet. You should not.

I certainly miss his competitiveness, his ability to bounce back from bad goals and bad games, his mad dashes out of the net and natural wanderlust. He was good in '02 and stellar in '07 despite the loss. There was always a point in the game where you could stop and say, Yes, now Dom has shut the door, and it was lights out.
-
If Hossa keeps up on this pace it's hard to see how he won't price himself off the Wings' roster. Which is a shame, since he and Pavel have clicked marvelously, and he can easily do it on his own when he's in a zone like right now.
-
He played sparingly (10:24) but wasn't around for any goals against, managed to get a plus while not actually contributing to the Franzen goal, and generally seemed to have a pretty quiet night, which is just fine for third pairing Dman.
-
Well, there's something to be said for limiting shots but still getting scored on. Giving up a lot of weak shots is better than giving up a handful of huge plays a game and nothing else. For their part, I thought the Wings had a nice second and third, but the first was (dishearteningly) typical Wings play. Featuring turnovers and bad decisions galore, breakouts up the middle into rushing forecheckers and odd man rushes while PKing. They wised up, finished strong, and of course won the game, but I'm not sold on their commitment to D.
-
Not even close. It was a massacre. We lost 9-4, Hasek got yanked, the board went nuts.
-
Yeah, his hard work on the PK spurred the Wings' rally. He played hard and gave the Wings energy when they were struggling.
-
The first period, to me, was like period three against Pittsburgh. The defense was brutal, there were tons of giveaways and odd man breaks, even on the PK where you always have three or four men back. But they finished strong. They started making the right plays in the second and third, like they did in the first and second vs the Pens. The goal at the end was bad all around, but I thought besides that the last two periods went very well. I'd hand the game-puck to Maltby for this one. His tremendous effort on the PK gave the Wings the momentum that didn't relent until the buzzer for the period sounded, and with the Wings having tons of PP time for the third. It is obnoxious that they failed to play a 60 minute game, but I suppose it's better to finish strong than get up early and sit back.

Unbelievabley incompetent dumbs*** referees. But, Detroit wins.
-
Those dumb motherf***ers, it was off Lecavalier.
-
He was virtually standing still, so it wasn't like he brought it in on his foot while he was skating. He clearly juts his foot out at the puck.
-
Aw those cocksuckers.
