11/11 GDT: Penguins 7, Red Wings 6 (OT)
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to I Red Wings I's topic in General
Here I sat watching in the third, seeing Hudler's slapper bounce up and in one more time. And from across the room a voice was heard to say, "This one's over. They're not gonna score three more in ten minutes." I admonished the voice; "no lead is safe!" I warned. Scoffing, he suggested we play Guitar Hero (seriously, my friends suck at watching the ******* game). In retrospect I wish we had, but the embarrassing meltdown certainly served to prove the point. Watching the Wings hang on for dear life with the game well within reach for the Pens, running around in their own zone and getting beaten to every puck, with turnover after mental error compounding into goal after goal... Well, it's probably just what they needed. They've been playing fast and loose on D all season and it's about time they felt the consequences thereof. With all the hype leading up to this game, the Wings lost more than just a point with their loss -- I hope they seize the opportunity here to redouble their efforts and start playing the game like we know that they can. -

I wonder if Sidney still wakes up in a cold sweat, Hank's stick haunting his dreams? -
A long time ago I said that if I ever had any photos of myself to put up I'd do it; better late than never. My friends and I went to visit some pals of ours from high school that had moved up north, near Traverse City. It was hella nice up there. If I had had a camera I would've taken a ton of pictures of the sky at night -- seeing all those stars in the sky was crazy, like seeing snow if you had lived in a desert. Anyways, this first one I think the photographer and I were just bantering back and forth which prompted this response: A nice photo of all my buddies out on the lake at sunset: Test your might: Finish him! I went to the Wings-Rangers game a month ago and got some nice photos from the Joe and Detroit/Windsor, clean shaven with a hair cut and not looking like a total dbag. At some point in the near future I'll put them up for your viewing pleasure.

Doggy as he prefers to appear, stately and well dressed, ears and all.

My doggie is adorable.

They're both pretty even offensively, and while Hossa is no slouch at the other end, Hank's Selke-level play is undeniable. There's no argument from where I stand.
-
They're certainly off to a fast start, have a lot of the same guys that have been good for a long time, and some new faces to boot. We're a loooooong way from the playoffs but if they ever did meet then it'd be an absolutely outstanding series.

The universe weeps for you.

That would be fantastic.

Dano is obviously not in tip top shape (as his visor might profess), but if he is on the power play and not being effective, that's not a knock against Dan, but obviously Mike -- who does play favorites, if the continued Hudler debacle is any evidence.

Even though it was mostly a lot of grappling, I got into it. I was cheering along and ready to see some blood. I haven't seen too many hockey games over the last year, I miss fights. Nuts to being a Wings fan.

It was great to see the Wings play a solid defensive game. Through the first month of the season I've been dreading the Wings giving up that tying goal as a matter of course virtually every night. Hossa continues to be the best free agent signing of the season, and Ozzie was in rare form. Think that 5 days off they got (however unbearable for us) energized the gang and gave them time to rework their D? I hope they keep the ball rolling and really start going off on a tear now.

At this point I'd be disappointed if the game wasn't a one-goal decision.

Has Sundin lowered his price and are the Wings a possibility?
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to DRWExaminer's topic in General
If tomorrow I wake up and the headlines are, "NHL Salary Cap Abolished," then I fully expect to see Sundin in the Winged Wheel by Tuesday. I will ride my unicorn to the Joe and call the game with the savvy crew of Steve Yzerman, Batman, and Abraham Lincoln. -
Curse you, Kenny!
-
I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello.
-
Major penalties (5 mins), unlike minor ones (2 mins) do not expire when a goal is scored.
-
I can't imagine what one would do without it.
-
I was laid off. So I have a bit of free time to watch hockey and goof off with you guys while I leech unemployment from the state.

The Train chugs on! Also: Is liking Lang uncool now? It might be uncool. But we oughta give the ol' sloth one more chance on the road to glory. I don't know where he is on the Habs depth chart but we're looking at 3-3-6 through 10 games, which isn't too bad if his minutes are on the decline (I dare not postulate what situation could cause a stalwart such as Bob to have his minutes be put in jeopardy). The Wings will get my vote, naturally. The East may not get its due consideration here, but I still issue forth the declaration that henceforth and forthwith, Robert Lang is the dark horse candidate in the East. If you're a fan of the West, you might even consider a vote for Bob a vote for your team, if you catch my drift. . Ok, I'm done talking about Bob forever now.

Totally off topic - Shy Ranger, Super Mario RPG is on my All-Time Top 10 List. I strongly approve of your choices there. -
Now this, this is the greatest super power ever.
