Definitely one of the most brutal goals of the playoffs. Still, he's gonna come back and play well.

Laser my ass. I'll never, ever, ever forget that that son of a ***** FANNED on the tying goal in Game 6 to beat Kipper between the legs. He was aiming high, goddamnit, and he would've been stoned (like he was anyways) if he had gotten off the shot he wanted. Clutch, but lucky, but clutch...

Hasek should have had the Cheechoo goal? Next you'll be telling me our defense won't pinch without support, so they don't trust their goalie. It was a perfectly executed 2-on-1; goalie gets beat every time. Perfect pass into the shooter's wheelhouse, perfect shot upstairs.

You know, I had a dream about Hasek last night. He came into the main lobby my school (THE Oakland University...) and everybody freaked out and dogpiled him. After that he started to tell the tale of the OT win like some kind of charismatic raconteur (go ahead and Google that, suckers!) with a decidedly un-Czech accent, and after that he went over the Wings' gameplan for the victory. This is where things got weird. Number one, I don't even remember. Number two, he said they got Hudler loose and he's so dangerous and all that... even though he was scratched in the real lifes. And then number three really through me for a loop... We had to stop their Big, Strong, Captain: Keith Primeau. Buh? That's pretty much when I woke up.

If anything good came of this thread, it was definitely the title. "Paralyzed Snow Angel of Defeat" is a pretty kickin' rad descriptor. I've got it on handy pretty much any time Hasek makes a save in his unique style from now on. Just like Lang is lazy and he sucks, these things enter board lore...

That's such an awesome photo. I think that's Schneider bumping heads with Hank in the middle, and they've got someone else sandwiched in between. The view from another angle also provides some fun moments: Look at the big ol' bear hug Bert is giving Markov's rear, who in turn crushes puny Cleary with a monster elbow.

I guess I have a soft spot for ol' Grapes. I find his antics hilarious at best, disgusting at worst, but I've been watching him for all my life. My dad (who I would rate as one of the Bottom 10 Enlightened Men of All-Time, so you can see why there'd be an appeal) and I used to look forward to every Saturday to see HNIC, more specifically for first intermission. We used to have this iron man thing going where we would see how long we could go without missing a Coach's Corner together (up to and including calling on the phone and listening together from friends' houses or whatever). So, ya know, he gets a little love from this corner for at least that.
