    A Little Help?

Egads, how did you survive before s came along and saved us from bulls*** extra-ultra-digital cable (and I guess being in China)? Listening to the radio? That's a hard way to live, man.

    Pre-GAME 4 (5/2): Red Wings @ Sharks - 10 PM ET

The Wings did get sloppy, and that's no joke, but it was more the Sharks disrupting the Wings breakouts than anything. If the Wings had been smart, they would've made the safe play and chipped it out on the glass etc, but they appeared to be unable to handle the forechecking pressure (which is the book on the Wings) and that caused the sloppiness.

    Pre-GAME 4 (5/2): Red Wings @ Sharks - 10 PM ET

I rather like to think that hockey is a contest between two teams, and acknowledge that the play of one may very well be the product of the play by the other, for example, the last half of Game 3. You may see the Wings starting to inexplicably suck and play without heart, I see a very big and strong Sharks team start to play their game and leave the Wings without answers. I'm not trying to give you s***, man, it's just something I've noticed around here. Give credit where it's due; how annoyed would you be to see Sharks fans saying their team lost only because they beat themselves?

    Pre-GAME 4 (5/2): Red Wings @ Sharks - 10 PM ET

I'd like to add that if we do lose this game (god forbid), it isn't necessarily because the Wings lack "heart." As difficult as it's been for some to fathom, the Sharks are a good talented team, and if they beat us it may just be because they're better. *gasp* Granted, it'll mostly be because the Wings stopped playing, they beat themselves, sunlight was in their eyes, etc...

    A Little Help?

They're experiencing some technical difficulties tonight... You can check here for updates, but our chances of catching the Wings game are spotty at best. UPDATE: In case Sopcast is down the game may be up on TVU player (just Google and download). Channel 34332 is the one to check at gametime.

No kidding. If Nabby were playing as poorly as he some of those Sammy Floating Wrister Specials would've been in the net.

    Paralyzed Snow Angel of Defeat

I should've been more clear, I meant "get the job done" as in goaltending in general. I'm talking about confidence in the goaltender's ABILITY. Everybody knows about his injury past. Totally different, unrelated things. Cheli pinched on the play that developed into Pavel's winning goal in Game 2. WHICH TEAM supports their Dmen pinching without support? I'm sure the coach comes out there and diagrams ways for his team to surrender 2-on-1s.

    Versus Airing Wings Game Early

Ugh... f*** Versus. Think I'm missing the game tonight unless somebody can figure out what's wrong with Sopcast.

    Paralyzed Snow Angel of Defeat

I'm sure everyone on the team, in the building, watching at home, and probably even himself think that. But so long as he gets the job done, who cares? That's just nuts. Wings have nothing but confidence in Hasek, they've had it all season.

Lots of skating for a Devils game. Alfredsson's got the the goal, but NJ's got a pair of goalposts. Incidentally, Bob Cole's call of the first NJ ringer was the single LEAST excited and enthusiastic call of one I'd ever heard. Langenbrunner had made a great play deking out a Dman to create a two on one, ripped the shot, iron all the way, and Cole couldn't be bothered to even raise his voice.

Sounds like we've got our own mini-Pain Train making the tears and blood flow (as they should) on patrol. Who knew Flip had it in him? CHOO CHOOOO!

Depends if it's on the Illegal Internets or not. Game 1 was supposed to be, but that was a lie. I went game-less (though it didn't appear that I missed much)!

I tend to disagree, actually. Granted, I was unable to view Game 1 (Versus ), but in Games 2 and 3, outside of the Thornton goal giveaway - which was ******* ridiculous, I don't deny that - he was stellar. I said just after Game 3 ended I thought Dom had put in his best performance of the playoffs, period. We can sit here and argue all day about whether he should've had the Cheechoo goal, but the number of downright gigantic stops he made up to that point speak for themselves. As far as I'm concerned, he's delivered on his end of the bargain. Funny, you know, how you and I (and others) all watched the same game and came to largely opposite conclusions? Hockey is weird, man.

    Pre-GAME 4 (5/2): Red Wings @ Sharks - 10 PM ET

Here we stand... at a crossroads. With nothing but the smell of sweet, sweet victory in the air on the path ahead... and the forces of Hell San Jose closing in from behind. No time to put your backs against the wall. Time to stand tall, be proud of who you are. You're a Detroit Red Wing! Let's go fight the good fight, boys.

What does Mikael Samuelsson bring to the table?

I think you're misunderstanding me: Sammy having a quick trigger-finger is OK with me. But it's not perfect. He shoots from too far away, with no traffic at the net. It's giving the puck away. How many goals has he scored or created on lame forty footers? Specifically, playoff goals? The good thing is he has a nice shot and can put it to good use, and the bad thing is he takes lame shots that have no chance. You take the good and the bad. Why is that so tough to grasp? No. I played a little in my youth, but I was truly ghastly and quit while I was ahead. Still, I've watched enough hockey to know about the game.
