School's out. I took a nap this afternoon. Bring it right the f*** on.
-
Hmm, I didn't see what it went off of. It was definitely in before the net came off. Good goal from me. Ohhh, now I see it. That's close.
-
Did the Rangers have a single scoring chance on that 5-on-3? Yikes. Rangers are done, son.
-
Could be the reason Kyle only played 6 minutes in Game 4 and missed Game 5. Hope he can fight through it, his hand is obviously bothering him. If Homer weren't out I wonder if he'd be scratched?

For all the upset talk, all the "zomg teh saberz had truble wiff ilanders," it looks like the Sabres that won the President's Trophy came to play against the Rangers today. Total domination.

Would you and Samadelphia drop the crystal ball act? Christ.

Convince me why I shouldn't be dreading this series....
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to Packer487's topic in General
I wasn't implying that at all; Nashville is much faster than us with guys like Kariya and Sullivan and Legwand, and we kicked their ass on numerous occasions. Just saying, San Jose is definitely the faster team. -
Flames are a very good hitting team. Just don't possess much of anything else (outside of goaltending). This makes sense. Where is the comparison between the two teams being made? The Wings handled the Flames toughness; they are not soft; even though the Sharks are tougher, the same principle applies. The Flames are an example of the Wings toughness; they have no bearing on what San Jose is or is not.

Lebda and Draper aren't exactly prime scoring threats, but Marleau is faster than both. Datsyuk has good speed and excellent quickness, but I wouldn't rate him at Marleau or even Michalek's level either. -
Spare me. You claimed I was "ignorant" "incapable of comprehension" and was "wasting your time." Just because you beat around the bush with your insults doesn't make them any less insults. 1.) This has nothing to do with stats. 2.) The Wings have proven they are capable of handling physical play. The Sharks may be bigger, but the principle is the same. That does not make for a comparison of the Flames and Sharks, as you claimed, now does it? Here, it's really easy: CLAIM: Wings aren't soft. LOGIC: Because they handled the Flames physical game. CONCLUSION: Wings aren't soft. No comparisons between the Flames and Sharks are made.

No way. Guys like Marleau, Guerin, and Michalek can flat out fly. Wings can't match them for footspeed. -

Bears repeating: Fear is the mindkiller! -
Please, use the quote function, like so:
blah blah blah
Just curious. Did you calculate this yourself? Eat s***, troll. You want stats, you got them. You want the opinion of the people who watched the games, you've got that, too. Let me reiterate for the dimwitted amongst us: "The point was, the ramped up physical play meant nothing. The Wings responded to the challenge and the Flames game plan was shot because of it." Wrong, dips***. You claimed the Wings were soft. Covenant claimed this was false because the Wings handled the Flames physical game. NOWHERE were the Sharks mentioned or implied in his response. Please, quit while you're ahead. You do your fellow fans a great disservice with this nonsense.
-
How much smaller? That's just flat out false. Wings and Flames split in games out-hitting one another, but most were close (Wings out-hit Flames by 10 in Game 5, though). The point was, the ramped up physical play meant nothing. The Wings responded to the challenge and the Flames game plan was shot because of it. Nowhere did Covenant make that comparison.

Definitely one of the most under-called penalties in the game. It's fast paced and there are bodies flying around everywhere, it seems pretty easy to get shoved into the net or tied up and push it off, but there needs to be someone around you to facilitate that. Ridiculous non-call.
-
I think they'll probably go with screen-by-committee until Homer gets back. Bert and Franzen might be the primary guys out front. Big boys, but nobody does that job better than Homer. You can look at Tomas's stats and say he had just one assist through six playoff games, but you'd be dead wrong to try and say he didn't make an impact. Get well soon, Demolition Man!
-
Perhaps. I suppose we'll see what they're made of in the following weeks, eh? Stomping the Preds back into their hole is one thing, but the Wings are a decidedly different animal. Of course, I'm not so arrogant as to think that San Jose is going to be anything like Calgary either. That's why our teams advanced and their teams didn't, right?
-
Again, I'm having a tough time getting worked up over this. His statements are somewhat inaccurate--we're playing a lot more dump and chase this season than in years past--but he's been around the block before. Spent a lot of time playing the Wings. The article does indeed look more like a ploy about calling Guerin out more than anything. Of course, if he thinks he know what makes Lidstrom tick or makes him uncomfortable, he's dreaming.
-
I agree with this.

*shrug* Power plays run hot and cold (except for Detroit's which is all-cold all the time). Sometimes there's no need to goof around with it. Despite it being off now, it was second in the league during the season so they must be doing something right. Detroit's PK hasn't exactly been dynamite either. -
He's UFA at season's end. At his age he'll just keep signing one-year deals until nobody wants him anymore.
