He's had a kind of a renaissance this season wearing the winged wheel. He was waaay hot early in the season and found himself on a scoring line for a while, but not he's back to his grinders role. Still, he can make a play. MickMcGeough made a great post. Both Phaneuf and Cleary hits were solid hockey plays.

Overall, the Wings had a helluva time making any good passes to start a rush. Everything was a bit ahead or behind to kill the momentum. I'm not sure what to make of it, other than to believe that it'll get sorted out for Game 4.

I don't have any problems with Bertuzzi in the context of this game. He was invisible offensively for the most part, but so were Hank and Pavel, we weren't exactly having a killer night on the attack. He put the body on a few times, so that was good to see. Don't buy that "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" crap. Bertuzzi's coming in facilitated Hudler's being scratched, but obviously the choice was who to sit and Mike was a tard and made a mistake.

Dan's hit was clean. That was a pretty brutal dive by Wayneo at the start there.
-
Calder is playing on a line with our two worst players: Lang and Sammy. It's unfortunate that he's stuck in that situation.
-
That was a solid flick, but I won't be buying it.

Lidstrom played unusually bad in game 3
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to hckypete96's topic in General
Well, I don't blame the goalie "everytime." Two of those goals had nothing to do with Hasek. But no matter what Lidstrom did or didn't do on the third one, it still shouldn't have been a goal. It's not really a big deal. I'm not mad or anything; this isn't Manny Legace here. A game is won or lost in a thousand places over the course of sixty minutes--lost when you can't convert on six straight minutes of power plays, lost when you fail to clear a puck, lost when you let in a bad goal--all of them combined are what do you in. It wouldn't be fair to just pick on Dom and that's far from what I'm doing. You see what I'm saying? Normally, Lidstrom would give that puck to Hank and it would be gone--they make that play to perfection; normally, Hasek would make that save and we'd still be 2-2, he plays his angles to perfection. Unfortunately, their humanness creeps in from time to time. Thank goodness we're talking about some of the best players in the world, some with famed ability to bounce back from losses. We'll be OK. -

So what? We're still talking about a shot coming from forty feet away. It's not exactly a Sammy Floating Wrister Special, but it's something that Hasek's got to have anyhow. -

In hindsight, he shoulda just chucked the puck outta the zone, but the Wings run that clear so effortlessly I'm not going to bag on him about it. The other one, yeah, he got "beat" by Iginla, where beat is letting him fire off a forty foot wrister. If that's Nick getting beat, then I think we're all set. Dom knows he shoulda had that one, and he'll be ready for anything Jarome and the gang throw at him in Game 4. -
Yeah, this guy's a clown and a half. Turn him over, he's D-U-N.

Re-posted for your (my?) benefit: Ugh. That was brutal to watch. The Wings had everything going their way to start the third, Dano had just made the play of the year... and then the collapse. Ye gods, it was unbearable. As I pick myself up and dust myself off, the Wings will need to do the same. They blew this one (so did the refs) but tomorrow is a new day and Thursday is a new game. They still have a chance to put the stranglehold on this series. Pavel and Hank need to be better. I expect Hasek to bounce back after letting in a softie GWG. Lang will continue to be terrible, as will Sammy (who will play because Mike's a tard).

Dano is all heart. One of the top plays of the year.
-
Word. I'm done with that joker. Good news is this: we still have a chance to put a stranglehold on the series by winning Thursday. Hasek won't be playing around anymore, I'm thinking.

Here we go... -
Yeah, just the sneezy kind. Not the "You just got beat up" kind.

Sens put the boot down on the Pens' collective necks. It's only a matter of time now... They played a good game, better than I thought, but in the end their prize is a first round exit...

Bert is in = hell yes. But: "Jiri Hudler will be scratched from the lineup." Goddamnit, Mike... -
I do know some programmers. Might be time to call in some favors. NHL 2K8 Brothers... Perhaps? :!:
