They play "TNT" by AC/DC when they get a PP, pretty sure they don't do that at the Joe.

Make an argument or eat s***. Normally I'd let us agree to disagree here, but this is no good. Bad playoff history indicates a trend of future failure; no playoff history means it could go either way. Strictly from that standpoint, how can you take the former over the latter?
-
Pavel was not a key figure in our Cup run. He has been since then, and has not delivered. This will not be forgotten when we're comparing the two players. It's not just Detroit fans who think this; I've seen and read on major media outlets like TSN and ESPN questioning Pavel's ability. Everybody knows that this is the issue. I wasn't predicted failure, I was merely saying that any chemistry he shares right now isn't meaningful if it doesn't carry over. Appeal to ignorance... A.) If it's immeasurable, then there's no much use in bringing it up and B.) I'd say they'd make much more money if the team made a deep playoff run than with highlight reel plays during the season, so in this aspect Pavel has not been helpful. Just so we're clear... I'm not arguing Savard > Datsyuk, I don't really know how those two compare with one another. But arguing that Pavel's playoff anything is a plus for him isn't accurate, in my estimation.

Could get ugly now, 3-0.

Being the second seed is an interesting proposition. #7 Minnesota and #8 Calgary isn't set in stone, but I get the feeling that's how it's going to go down. The dreaded Curse of the Second Seed doth loom large, but I do like our chances against the Wild.

-How do you figure? Much better to have no history at all than a history of failure. -We'll see how it carries over to the big time. Hopefully he continues to do well, but we've seen this act before. -I don't think the Wings are having trouble making money.
-
Judging by his stat line, Tootoo may have actually been less embarrassed if some huge man had handed him his ass.
-
I'd say you're better served leaving it at stats; his so called 'intangibles' (which I took to mean playoff games/Cup ring, feel free to correct) are none too impressive.
-
It was back and forth, and I know Jarome is an emotional guy, but it's none too sporting to keep wailing on a guy once he's fallen to his knees like that.
-
That was a marvelous pass from Huselius and a bomb from Langkow. Well earned goal for the Flames. I hope they lose though, no use for them gaining confidence on the road if they're gonna be our first round opponent.

Plenty of action early in Vancouver. Iginla vs Mitchell, pretty good scrap. There were gloves and sticks everywhere just three minutes in.
-
Jeez, Bob Cole and Jim Hughson talking rather nonchalantly about a fan that has apparently "passed out" in the stands, and is requiring "cardiac work" so as to be "revived." I know Mats Sundin and Sidney Crosby are real cool dudes, but the situation doesn't exactly lend itself to hockey-talk. Oh man, Don just called Ponikarovsky "Pocahontas." Like, the Disney movie.

Helluva finish in store on HNIC. Ryan Whitney scores with four seconds to go to send the game to OT.
-
True. It's been ages since the Wings were a good OT team, during the season or playoffs.

Kronwall out 6-8 weeks with broken sacrum

I have called on the power of Google to do thy bidding. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER -
He also got turned inside out by a speedy Selanne, you may remember. Lilja is a perfectly acceptable 6th D-man, but he's still the worst on the team. It's all we can ask that he limit his mistakes and block a few shots. Anything after that (like his badassery vs Anaheim) is a bonus.
-
He really wasn't that effective on the PP. This illustrates nicely how we basically have Nick and Matt doing all the work with the man advantage.

Doesn't sound like anything serious. "Take a breather, Nick," you know. Your link didn't work, by the way, so here it is again. -

Definitely Lilja time, sounds like. We'll survive, but it's really tough to see poor Nik struggle with injuries like this for the entirety of his young career. Can't this guy just catch a break? -
Nah, they won some lame shootout game last season too, and I think we rattled off four or five straight wins against them before this.
-
Never! Bob leads me not into temptation, but does deliver me from evil.
-
Detroit and Toronto. Truly, this is what the league needs.
-
If Pavel doesn't make the cut this post season, and it's between he and Drury for an equal amount, or even Drury for a slightly greater amount, there really should be zero question as to the proper course of action.
-
He's speaking from the perspective of David Legwand and the Nashville Predators, in this particular instance. That's a rather silly thing for him to say. No doubt he's frustrated that Big Brother pretty much took it to them this year, again.

We blew the lead! We blew the lead. As I related earlier... didn't actually see it, so no comment. Nik remains the Hard Luck Player of All-Time, though. All I know is I'll take 5 out of 6 against good teams any day of the week. Two wins, one tie is pretty OK. Now all we have to do is hope the boys can get up for the last for snoozers of the season against the Central's basement.
