I think Todd has had more scoring chances in these last two games than any other Red Wing. Now it's all about putting those chances away. Give it some time... and he'll get the job done.

Tootoo's MO is "make a beeline for a guy from across the rink and leap into him at the last moment." I swear he charges at guys two or three times a game and players are barely dodging getting their heads taken off. Tootoo is why charges should A.) be called more consistently and B.) be called even if the offending player misses, just like slashing.

According to Scott Cullen's player rankings, you mean. I would be wary to use that as source for any kind of objective comparison; his formula is a secret and weighted in ways we don't know. Much better to just jump to NHL.com and find the individual stats. I went ahead and did that: Niedermayer has more goals, assists, points. Schneider has a better +/- (though they're comparable at a difference of three); Matt also has blocked more shots. They have an equal number of hits. Schneider has fewer giveaways and takeaways than Scott. Scott also plays about four more minutes per game than Matt. Of course, stats are far and away the end all be all when discussing player quality, but these should give you a much better picture than Mr. Cullen's mysterious player rankings.

Wait until the playoffs are over to make too many judgments... but Lang is definitely gone at season's end. And Maltby is definitely out in my book. I haven't been a huge Schneider fan of late but Kronwall isn't exactly progressing as quickly as we would've hoped so... we'll see. Playoffs playoffs playoffs.

As great as Cheli is, an enforcer he is not. Officials or no, he wasn't going to be fighting anyone. Not the dirtiest hit in the world, but with the "repeat offender" multiplier he ought to at least get punishments ranging from "banned from the league" all the way up to "thrown into a wood chipper." Whatever. Old spineless Colin up to his old tricks.

I don't blame him, he knew he might have carried the puck in and dragged it out (even as the refs were standing two feet behind him doing their damnedest to get a look). I won't rip on the guy for trying to get the W. But it was in, and they blew the call. Ho hum.

You hate Bertuzzi... and that's cool. But save the criticism for when it's due. He did nothing wrong on that high stick call, just caught a bad break.
