Not over yet.

Guess who.
-
Oh geez is that a tooth I saw pop out? Ouch.
-
Kronwall definitely upping his hitting game lately.
-
I have no idea how that happens.
-
They're batting .500, no way they lose this one.
-
Guess who. EDIT: Or not. Another Joey puck mishandle though.
-
Nik handled Jagr like a pro there. A decade ago the sight of Jaromir Jagr bearing down a Dman one on one was a death sentence. But those were different days to be sure.
-
Hudler has been making a ton of mistakes on the PP lately.
-
Classic Hank backhander.
-
RIP Beast and Colleen. Congratulations to Mark. Nice to see the Howe clan well represented.

3/4 GDT : Blackhawks 2 at Red Wings 1

Really, it's a lousy comeback mechanism; I think just about any of the other sports does it better. But at least when opponents get that extra man it's white knuckle, nail biter time, usually right down to the finish. When the Wings try it's Keystone Cops. -

That sucked, and was dumb. -

The Hawks are getting outplayed big time, and yet when I look at the scoreboard it's still 1-1. We live in an inherently dumb universe. -

God, Kane is such a lousy player. It's a miracle they managed to win a Cup with this guy making so many half-hearted and boneheaded plays every game. -

Wings are really moving their feet today. Even Hudler was cruisin' on the rush a couple minutes ago. If they can keep this up this game will go their way. -

Nice flyby from Kane on Nik's goal. What a great hockey player he is, eh? -
I tend to agree with the points you make here GMR, however this one I sort of disagree with. While the above is actually true, so is the reverse of it -- there were several years before Nick started winning the Norris that he was arguably the best Dman in the NHL but instead it went to jerks like Rob Blake.
-
I like how godmode Harding was around just long enough to get a couple lame wins against the Wings before falling off the face of the Earth entirely. But what can you do? Get two points tonight, fellas.

Certainly no shame to not be as good as the 2008 squad -- that team was incredible. We are a lucky bunch of fans to have seen a team that good in the same lifetime as another team that was arguably even better (2002). Very few fan bases can boast having so many amazing teams in such a short span of time. The main difference between this year's team and that year's, I would say, is that back then Hank had more get up and go. And they were a PKing machine in those days. More glaring weaknesses on this 2012 team for sure, but being head-and-shoulders above the rest of the competition isn't the only way to win the Cup (although it may be the way some are most used to).

If I were a betting man I'd certainly be picking the Canucks tonight. Like the Wings, the Blues are getting it done at home and are .500 on the road. Anything's possible of course, but I would agree the Canucks "should" take care of business; the question now becomes whether or not they follow through.
-
The Wings can settle this the old fashioned way. There's one game remaining against the Blues, although it is in St. Louis.

I echo the sentiment of the "Cup's what matters" crowd. However, any year your team wins the President's Trophy is a year your team did a whole lot of winning and probably made you pretty happy (or not happy at all, as they case sometimes is around these parts ), so it has some small amount of value in my opinion.
