Wings have made an Offer for Jason Blake

Detroit locker room > Jason Blake. -
I know, it's awful. But it just struck me as I was typing it to stick it in there. I'm never one to doubt intuition.

Wings have made an Offer for Jason Blake

Kinda missed all the hooplah today, so here's my two cents: Damn these rentals are getting expensive. You sit pat, and in a few years all the playoff teams are on the outside because all their young guys are somewhere else, and the teams with all the young guys are too inexperienced to make a run at it. Then you're the big dog all the sudden. Or maybe not. But I've got a feeling the price for Guerin/Blake is, like, the deed to the franchise at this point. -
Hartnell out 4 to 6 weeks with a broken foot (TSN)

I like him about as far as I can throw him, he's got the integrity of Maltby-squared, but get well soon and all that so Nik can drop a train on ya, big guy. -
Any time MacT opens his mouth, I imagine Yackety Sax just starts running and doesn't stop until you leave the room.

No bonuses for players under 35.
-
I don't think he's hurt. Really, he's just a bum. Mike said a couple things about it, but unless he actually disciplines the guy it's no use.
-
I was just discussing this, actually. If there was a move to be made, maybe Atlanta would get involved, it could definitely be beneficial. Flip played fifteen minutes tonight; he doesn't have Lang's offensive ability yet (slump notwithstanding, mind you) but Mike's got a lot of confidence in him. Still, I'd hate to move him just because I kinda sense that if we could get a good winger for him we'd have a decent secondary scoring line instead of living or dying with what Hank and Pavel do. With Willy perpetually useless, and Cleary KO'd, we're going to really struggle to put points on the board outside of the big line. Sammy will be back in a couple weeks, though, so at least relief is on the way...

"This sucks" about sums up the news.
-
Trust me, Bob is my homeboy. But his complete and total noneffort that he's been giving lately is just unbearable and unprofessional.
-
Nah, he let in a couple softies tonight, Kariya's first tally worst of all. I don't really think it's deserving of its own thread, but whatever.
-
Is there anyone out there who thinks the Wings didn't play a good game? Let's not worry about individual players for a moment--as a whole, pretty good game by the red and white, no?
-
Lang did exactly "get it done" tonight, but I wasn't offended by the intensity--or lack thereof--he brought tonight, so, he lives to see another day.
-
They got it back less than two minutes later on the PP resulting from the play so... probably not. Oh, and of ******* course, a decree brought down from the hockey gods because I had the audacity to view the Red Wings scoring a hat trick--the first I've seen of the four this season--that we should lose the game anyhow. Real ******* funny, guys. It was a great game anyways. Very exciting, lots of action, good hitting, etc. Oz wants to have the first two goals back (the first goal was especially soft) but he came back and made some good stops in the late going. So, we split 'em up two aside; winners at home all. The race to the finish continues!

No shame, harold! Real men dig JT.
-
I was worried no one was gonna catch it for a moment. Big ups, harold!

Just this morning they let me know you were gone, Joey the plans they made put an end to you...

You know, that's funny, I've heard 'soda drinkers' claim that pop was the term from the 50's. Anyways, it's a Midwest thing in America as best as I can tell.

Jason Williams has to be one of the worst players in the NHL.
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to a topic in General
Really, it's split wins, two ties. Shootouts count for nothing when you're comparing two teams chances in the playoffs, for obvious reasons. Edmonton I guess has had the Wings number since their inception in the league... Not hard to guess why with Gretzky et al in the 80's, but even now they give us a rough go of it... Certainly, it would be a relief to avoid them altogether this post season. -
I'm so disgusted with Robert after he gave his poorest effort of the season last night, that this is all the pregame hooplah he gets today: GET IT DONE JACKASS You think I'm f***in' around, Bobby? Just try me.
-
That's a ridiculous assertion, loo. None of us here have half the skill of even Jason Williams but we've got a three page thread about how awful he is, and rightfully so--he's awful. He makes poor decisions and there's nothing wrong with pointing that out. In this case, Hasek made a poor decision, but he's still human and still one of the best goalies in the NHL, so why fret?
-
You know, I was hoping it would fire him up and he might get something done. He didn't do s***. He was soley responsible for the Torres goal. No hustle, just floating from spot to spot in a no-assed effort at coverage. What the hell is this guy's problem? He seriously needs some time glued to the bench. In any event, we managed to skate to a tie. No good for the shootout, but whatever. A point's a point.

Wings playing a tougher game than they normally do so far.
-
No kidding. Stuff gets ugly fast when everybody's pissed off at the refs and can't do anything about it. Let's hope the zebras keep that in mind for the second...

To quote Mick: "What a fiasco." Still, we got the lead so something good happened in that period.
