Lang + Iginla =

No way. Michalek, Ballard, and Doan are untouchable in Phoenix. At the very least, it would take a lot more than the standard issue Hudler+Williams+pick deal to get any one of them over here.
-
Bwahahahahahahahaha! Oh man, that's somethin' right there! Hahahaha, oh geez, good stuff, good show man! Hehehehe, that's genius. Whoo boy.
-
He just had the jinx on him was all. He's still a good player. I bet he keeps on tearin' it up with the Blues when the NHL starts up again. So, Wings + Tkachuk = over the hump.

Harrington is our man on the road to nowhere. We need a new guy to come in. I'm liking this Brees and Schaub talk. If it's one thing the Lions can do, it's overpay, so we should have a decent shot at these guys.

A power play specialist and a unproven and undersized prospect who could have a decent future ahead of him probably won't net Phoenix's power forward captain. A 1st rounder might put it over the top, but you have to keep in mind that it would be a very late first rounder (25th or lower). I've gotta go with NN here. The players going to Phoenix are good, but not the right kind of good. They would nothing to replace the loss of Doan, for sure.

Yes, how could we ever want the NHL's leading scorer amongst defensemen (tied with LA's Visnovsky and our good pal Bryan)? Or one of the smartest and most defensively sound players of all time? Surely the minutes he logs (you know, half a game on an off night) are nothing but a burden to this squad. Chelios for McCabe. Toronto could use the defense.

Well, Pittsburgh definately got the calls today. Wasn't a lot of wrong to see on the Jackson TD and the catch at the 1-yard line that got called back. But it was still nice to see the Detroit boy make his last stop a memorable one. Congratulations to Bettis and the 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers on their world championship!
-
Just one our to go. The city of Detroit will be rooting for Jerome and the Steelers--and I will too--but the Seahawks are probably the best underdog in history. Time to start preparing for the biggest game of the year...

Well s**t. No Martz = no offense.

And to think these are the Blues' top guys! No and no.

1/24 GDT: Nashville Predators at Red Wings
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to Bluedevils_13's topic in General
Look on the bright side, guys. We could be staring down a 14 game losing streak, (not-so)proudly donning the Yellow'n'Blue of a similarly named franchise. Hopefully, if something is to come out of these two losses, it's a kick in the pants to the usually unquestionably dominant Wings that they need to crank it up a notch if they wanna secure the division. If one were to inquire why this didn't happen after yesterday's game, however, I would kindly request of that person to shut up. I have been none to thrilled with Babcock's, "Oh, I thought we played really well," excuses. No, you have not. We'll see what he says this time. -

^^^ I can't read what this guy said (ignored), but I'm sure it wasn't anything that my dog couldn't have typed. EDIT: Good lord, you people post fast. That would be directed at Mr. hockeyforlife. -

Couple of quick things about tonight's contest... One, Red Wings still can't finish on a 2-on-1 (or anything else tonight, for that matter). Maltby sends a soft wrister into Vokoun's glove? I mean, are you f**king kidding? Props to at least getting a shot off. Two, they picked a bad time to start slumping. They've got the jinx on 'em and it doesn't look good going to face off with a Canadian team Thursday. I swear to God I have no idea where these Nashville guys came from, but they've been up there all year, and now they've just blindsided the Wings with their superior play--all four points ON THE ROAD. I don't think he necessarily played bad, but it doesn't matter, really--I think that's the last we'll see of Manny for a while. Basically... just a big disappointment all over... Time to go back to the drawing board, eh? -
Check this s**t out... Big guy in the secondary for Pittsburgh? Troy Polamalu. Big guy in the secondary for Seattle? Lofa Totupu. What more could you possibly ask for?
-
Tight, tough game. No team will reach 30 points, that's for sure. Mock prediction: Alexander rushes for 4 TDs and loses. Actual predicition: Seattle gets tons of yards, but has to settle for field goals. The Bus punches at least one in. Pittsburgh wins by a touchdown late.
-
And so the Bus rolls into Detroit... Though I was a little off on the score.
-
Mike's picks for this evening's festivities... Pittsburgh by 4. Seattle by 10.

Kronwall: to play or not to play
Heroes of Hockeytown replied to Schneids_is_awesome's topic in General
He can request--or have it requested of him-- to have reduced ice time. Obviously, he won't be 100%, so it probably wasn't in Team Sweden's game plan to have in out there all of the time anyways. And if he plays and doesn't feel good, he can just drop out. The taxi squad's good for that.
