4/8 GDT: Blackhawks 4 at Red Wings 2

I suspect Sunday's affair won't be much more fun than this one was.

I like Ericsson virtually skating himself into a Hawks 2-on-1 there. Try to keep some focus, man.

Everyone grab your rally caps, it's comeback time!

I trust everyone is having a lovely evening?

I'd also like to take this opportunity to add that Bertuzzi has had a fantastic game. He truly is the heart and soul of this hockey team and I can scarcely imagine their record if they were without him. I do hereby declare on this date, the Eighth of April in the year of our lord two thousand and eleven, to be Bertuzzi Day in Michigan!

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011, at 6:11 of the third period Johan Franzen scores the last goal in Detroit Red Wings history.

Time to glue Pav and Nick to the bench and call it a night.

Franzen with the tunnel vision on the puck. Behind you, big guy.

    Zetterberg leaves against Carolina

I'm frowning as hard as I can right now. In fact I'd say this is pushing me to Babcockian levels of scowl.

    Unbelievably bad goal.

Heh, that would be a lot of fun, but if the conditions for the Hawks missing the playoffs are both the Wings and Stars running the table, then I'd say the odds are in Chicago's favor.

    Unbelievably bad goal.

Sweet mother of mercy that's got to be the worst no-goal allowed I've ever seen. Seriously, a challenge is issued to find one worse than that.

4/6 GDT: Red Wings 0 at Hurricanes 3

I guess I must be crazy because I didn't think they played poorly tonight at all. Maybe after the third goal but I can hardly blame them because I stopped paying close attention after that as well.

Sometimes it seems like any Wings loss is blamed on not caring or no effort or whatever. I've been very pleased with their effort tonight. They've skated well, thrown some hits, generated lots of scoring chances. No puck luck would be my main complaint, but I don't know which guy on the team I can blame for that. A team can play well and still lose. It happens all the time, and it's happening tonight, by my reckoning.

Well, I don't think the score is indicative of the level of play between these two teams tonight. But it doesn't matter, you get what you get. The Canes are sure to lock it down and try to strangle the life out of this one now. With the way Ward is playing they're going to need to get a good break or two to rally.

Couple nice plays from Ericsson there: a hit, breaking up the odd man rush.

Next time Ericsson should put Skinner on his ass instead of politely bumping into him.

Well in a "do everything but score" contest, the Wings are winning by an insurmountable lead.

I don't. Teach him to steal my woman. Oh, my dear sweet Emma, return to me!

Wings seemed to carry the play in the first. Cam Ward held them in it, but Jimmy stood tall too. Good looking game shaping up.

Cole walking right around Ericsson. He was playing it awfully close instead of backing off.

Best bit of stick handling I've seen from Franzen in a while.

Bryan Allen is such an ass. The league would be much improved by his absence.

It's the Hank, Pav, and Dano Power Hour right now.

Pavel Datsyuk is alright at hockey, I guess.
