Hank needs to be more patient. Kipper was down, he was at Hank's mercy if he held onto it. -

The veterans on the Detroit Subtle Interferences have yet to pass on the secrets of their trade to the next generation. -

Against MSU Robinson had two of those throws open, the receiver had a step on the DB, but threw it behind his receiver and into disaster. While he hadn't displayed this problem before, most of his throws come on screens or to stunningly open receivers; throwing into tight windows is obviously not part of his package yet (if it ever will be). MSU did a good job in forcing those plays by leaving their backside DEs in to contain on every snap, rather than trying to read the option. If Michigan still had a runner like Hart or Minor they could have plundered the middle of the field to take advantage of this, but instead they have Vincent Smith who hits the turf in the face of the slightest breeze. Looking ahead though, I think PSU, which is wracked with injuries, and probably Illinois and Purdue will be wins. Whereas Michigans godawful secondary got shelled by experienced upperclassmen QBs in the last three outings (seniors Stanzi and Chappell and junior Cousins), all of the next three are freshman QBs that are in the bottom 20th in nation right now in passing. Which will probably go up after they play Michigan, but not enough to beat them, I envision. -
No points for winning or losing. Welcome to the new NHL: the Nihilism Hockey League.

Clutch turnovers left and right. When you absolutely, positively have to fumble to destroy any hope of a comeback, you get the Lions. -

The third line has been a disappointment so far, but the season is young. If it never works and their union is sundered (the eventual fate of all line combos), then hopefully they can be rearranged into something more productive. -

If there ever was an uglier, less-inspiring win, I've yet to see it. But that was a pretty well executed play at the end. Lidstrom the decoy! -

Perhaps a 4-on-3 will be a power play they can actually work with. -

They need to do everything in their power to avoid a shootout. Pull Jimmy for another skater! Grab two sticks! Pick it up and throw it in the net! -

Tough break to get your pass blocked, but he made the right play holding his guy once the rush was on. -

I expressed my displeasure with him earlier, but that PBU may have prevented a goal. Keep it up, Stuie. -

Once again Helm is just standing out in space, defending nobody. However, Wolski seems to have gotten behind Lidstrom, too. Poor recognition all around. -

We are spared an Eaves penalty shot and all the airborne grace that entails.
