Sometimes a goal is just a goal. Player couldn't clear a bouncing puck in his feet, back to the point where it bounces off a skate right to a Ranger. There's no blame to assign, it just happens. -

Franzen back on the ice. Wings' level of play was much higher in that period. Too bad they weren't better rewarded for it, but Lundqvist has been good. -

That's about as ugly a period as you'll get. Can't complain too much though, it's A-team vs B-team. I hope Flip's line is at least able to get on the board in this one though; Franzen's absence has delayed what will hopefully be a beautiful friendship. -

Didn't take very long. Gaborik just doing what he does. -
Why would Laraque be afraid of fighting? Even if the Wings had an enforcer dressed that night, Laraque is well-versed in that sort of thing. He stuck his leg out because Kronwall had him beat, not because he wouldn't have to fight Downey later.

Solid effort up and down. Most of the mix-ups that led to goals against were from the B-team players so I can't complain. If Cleary and Rafalski can play like this on most nights they're due for big rebound seasons. -

If there are two things that the Wings have been unusually poor at the last few years (especially considering their high level of offensive talent), it would be 5-on-3 power plays and 2-on-1 rushes. -
