Hard to believe this guy got chased in Game 3. What a show he's putting on.
-
Wow, triple axel from Gionta, I give it a solid 8.
-
Mike Green in the playoffs: Takin' penalties, not scorin', bein' a cool guy.
-
Even if they get by the Habs and Flyers, the Caps don't look like they have the goaltending or defense to compete with the Pens. I know the Caps kicked the Pens' asses during the regular season, but that's a very long way from playoff hockey. It seems unlikely any team but the Pens is going to come out of the East.

Doesn't look like Hossa has had much more success against another tight-checking, defensively oriented team with strong goaltending in Nashville either. -
I know we're all rah-rah in here normally but he was emphatically not good today.

Not that it matters, but clearly in the net. -

This game has been really obnoxious. Just one of those games where pucks are flying in through screens and off people and in from everywhere. It was that stupid first period that did it; Detroit did everything and got nothing, and Phoenix did nothing and got everything. I guess we should have seen it coming, the Wings always get their asses kicked during afternoon games. -
Brutal rebound.
-
Good call, they just showed a pretty definitive look.
-
Kind of annoying because whether or not the net is jarred an inch off the frame has zero impact on the play that was happening in the middle of the goalmouth.
-
Just saw a good replay, looks the net has shifted out but the peg is still stuck in the hole.
-
Net was off?
-
Tough spot for Fleury to be in coming all the way from post to post, but he overplayed that short side by a mile. Nice patience from Alfredsson.
-
Maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention then. But he looks like he's been involved in all the big plays, like Carkner's goal, and has got them going again tonight.
-
He is (rightfully) being overshadowed by Crosby's performance, but Alfredsson has had a really great series.
-
He was trying to pokecheck but I don't know why, Cullen was way too far away, he didn't come close and exposed the entire net.
-
Probably part of the Ovechkin judgment was that he was a repeat offender; as I recall he was already involved in two incidents this season before the Campbell hit. Hossa has no history for this type of behavior so I doubt there will be any supplementary discipline.
-
Hawks have looked better on the PK than Preds have on the PP. These guys are toast, Erat has ruined them.
-
Losing now might qualify for the biggest choke in history. Giving up a shorthanded goal when the only thing you have to do to win is NOT give up a shorthanded goal. My god.
-
All they had to do was hang onto the puck, not hard when you have an extra guy. Terrible blind pass by Erat to start the Hawks' rush.
-
Twelve years later, David Legwand's potential as the 2nd overall pick has been realized.
-
Rinne do you know who you're dealing with here? Don't sell out with the pokecheck!
-
Pierre is in love with the Wings. I'd be shocked if he doesn't bring up Homer and Franzen during today's broadcast, he mentions their names anytime anyone screens a goalie anywhere.
