It's a shame the Wings don't know how to elevate their game in the postseason. Anyways, after sleepwalking through two periods I predict the Wings will come out and take the Jackets apart in the third, as men once did in the days of yore. -

I remember thinking this half-way through the season last year. I guess meaningful regular season games (which we have now exhausted, but not before game 80 of the year) do carry some novelty. -

Should the Wings part ways with Osgood?

It's 2/3rds, over twice the remaining years on the contract. So they would be on the hook for about $500K for the next two years just to not have Osgood on the team, and therefore paying any replacement more than $1M would result in a net loss of cap space. -
I know Kopecky got his s*** pushed in by Beauchemin and was KO'd for the playoff year. Draper was injured at some point but he returned in the Finals (to replace none other than one Justin Abdelkader even after he scored those goals in the first two games) but I don't remember if he was scratched before then or not.

I'd prefer that they scratch Willy if they're going to bench someone, but that seems unlikely.

Feels like an instant replay of yesterday's game. The Wings are totally stifled, can't control or move the puck. Not shaping up to be a very good weekend.
