I just now realized this; doesn't entirely pertain to this thread's topic, but not entirely worthy of it's own. But Toronto and Montreal, both a point apart and fighting madly for the 8th spot in the East, face each other on the 7th. Huet's probably going to be back too, this might be the best game of the year!

I remember that! Didn't Matt change the logo and everything? I'm actually hoping Nashville's get a full roster back by playoff time, it'd make a great " true rival series." Assuming Detroit can survive their dreaded enemy, the first round.

A simple observation about Calder and why I think he's an amazing fit for us. Even when he's not scoring, he's making a difference, when Williams wasn't scoring he was useless. Bertuzzi's much the same, in fact Bertuzzi actually has been effective doing nothing more than bracing himself against hits. Some of the most devestating damage he's layed out on opponent's have been from incodent he hasn't even started! I love these guys. If Calgary gets as much as one point or Colorado loses as much as one point from here on out, it's lights out for Colorado's playoff chances this year. With that being said, the Avs are climbing a VERY steep mountain, not impossible but the odds are overwhelmingly against them.

I see games like tonight's game being exactly what we'll see from time to time in the playoffs. With that being said I'm ecstatic to see us play a game we were actually outplayed in. Makes me even happier to see Calder and Bertuzzi get goals, the two guys we're banking on to add the playoff needed grit to our roster.

10:32 off the game gone by and 10 total PIM, please make it stop.

They only had that one because Haynes soils himself somewehere between his 7th and 8th "RIGHT BY WAH!" That and of course it being more evenly matched. My two personal favorites, hat's off to Mike Milbury for beating a guy with his own shoe in the crowd!

Can't go wrong with these picks, I concur.

Who do I want? Nashville

You know one of these days I'd like a LGW user to actually chuck out an octo onto the ice. Tell everyone on the fourum were their seats are and when they plan to unleash the mollusk, just so we can all watch for it. Just a thought, not that I'm volunteering but I'd love to see it, especially at an away game like today.
-
It's a pity we have the tiebreaker on that one, we'd have to drop two of our remaining 3 assuming Anaheim can beat Dallas, San Jose, and Columbus on 1 nights rest. I once again implore babs to sit any player who has as much as a bruise.

Let's watch Scott team up with Lilja going against other team's top lines and see how brilliant his numbers become, or put him on the powerplay with Schneids the SH goals against machine. Even considering that lidstrom's +/- is over 4 times that of Scott's. In the scope of offensive play Niedermayer's numbers have been slightly better (even though Pronger is ALOT stronger offensively on the PP than Schneids), but defensively Lidstrom's numbers have been far and away better than Scott's. Comparing the two on a even keel basis comparing both assets of their games Lidstrom is far and away the winner. As for the West being weaker than the East, that's entirely bogus especially through the years of the big 4 in Detroit, Dallas, Colorado, and St Louis. Not too mention the West has been considerably better than the East this year and I don't see that trend changing next year with the possible exception of Pitt turning into a dynasty if all pans out well for them.

As much as I'd love to see Calgary pass Minnesota, Minnesota has nothing but home games left, 2 against Edmonton and the last versus St Louis. Edmonton just proved today in a lose to Chicago that they are truly the crappiest team in the league currently so it's hard to realistically see the Wild doing anything but going 3-0, not too mention they have the tie breaker on Calgary too. I'm still gonna hope for Calgary to run the table here, go out winning all their remaining games and maybe see St Louis pull out something like an OT win against the Wild. Not saying it's impossible but incredibly inprobable.

Wish I could get excited about todays win but really I'm struggling to find any benefit from playing Calgary 1st round. Expecially considering with Minnasota's remaining schedule and Colorado virtually out of the playoffs they're for the most part a lock for 8th spot. I'd be fine with us just resting half our team these next few games, maybe get Zetterberg in a few games to get his wheels back. However I hate rooting against the wings so I can't help but want to win every remaining game >_< Wish this wasn't so complicated, more so I wish Minnasota would stumble into the eight slot. On a side note is it Vs./Yahoo sports April fool's day prank to air the Chicago/Edmonton game live via stream internet today?

Dumbest thing you've ever heard another teams fans say

Tootoo for his size is a tough little bastard but he'd need a ladder just to land a meaningful blow against Boogaard. -

During the March 13th GDT, some vapid Tootoo slappy/Pred fan who's yet to show his face anywhere on the boards since, Triumphantly claimed Tootoo beat both Laraque and Boogaard in fights this year. His name was "Dawn of Pred" As some might recall he was making vague sense in a few of his arguments before pulling that line out of his ass. Shortly after being called out for lieing his ass off everyone igoired him and he went away. I know I've heard worse but this one was the first I could think of. Edit: Remembered some years ago some one said to me in regards to the Wngs success rate this year. We'd be great as long as we kept the Russian 5 together. This wasn't a bad statement except for the time it was said was during the 02-03 season. -
I enjoyed it but feel it'd get pretty redundant pretty fast. Loved the commentary early on but it did start to grate on me as their lack of natural chemistry together lead to argument after argument. Entertaining yes, but not for the long haul.

Dear god, if not for the final 5 minutes of blow out games for us Hasek would be leading the leageue in SO's.

I wonder if Tootoo's finally been exposed for the dirty player he truly is to the refs. They sure as hell weren't leniant with him tonight as they shouldn't be and I stand by my thought that if they called him fair and sqaure as if he were a 6'4+ 220+ enforcers he have no real place on Nashville's roster, as he'd spend more time in the box than on the ice.
-
Ugh... Seriously that boy needs to drink more milk or something. Glad we have such weak competition our last 4 games at least, we can afford to let Lidstrom sit out a game or so to make sure he's 100% come playoff time.
-
On the plus side we're ahead of Nashville now.
-
Wow, we are by far the worse team in the league on back to back nights.
-
Guess it's getting easier and easier to tell which team played last night here late in the third. Thank the gods we stored ourself a decent lead.

Yesterday marked my fifth incorrect loss prediction in a row

Detroit loses 2-1 in OT

HA HA NASHVILLE BLOWS!!!! We are by far the superior team this year they can't say a single thing since the refs were pratuically thier bitcy yet we still owner thier asses... Im prety drunk right now so don;t bother respinding" Go wings!!!!!
