Glad to see Hasek's not wasting anytime being rusty, akward yes but isn't he always?

If we lose this game I'm going to cut myself, though seriously enough I don't want us underestimating a team like L.A. These are the must win games for us, though injury depleted we cannot afford to lose a must win game. Our point home streak's bound to end sometimes and much like our shut out streak ended at the hands of the lowly Blues, I can actually see the Kings being good suiters for such a role. But it's hard to fight history and I cannot see us losing this one, but I'm not seeing a blow out, something like a 2-1 victory for us is what I'm feeling for tonight. Franzen's gonna shine for us tonight, and just because I enjoy seeing Calder so far being the most productive trade acquisition for any team so far this year so I'll say he scores the other on a powerplay.

He retired due to complications over a shoulder injury, though there is talk that he might be back next year.

I kinda like it, cheesey yes but if looked at in a parodic sense it's pretty witty. Nothing I'd imagine hearing at the Joe, but definitely on a local radio station. Kind of like the Leafs suck song Ottawa made to the tune of Hey ya or Toronto's rebuttal sung to the tune of Sandler's Hanukka song. Just a cheesey little remix, nothing meant to be that serious.

Must be something about early march as we all know what yesterday was the anniversary of. Though if you ask me this is far worse, I'm sure Hollweg will fear better from this than Moore so it obviously won't be relfected that way upon the general populace though =/

Alot of teams are hot right now though 12th seems pretty severe a drop for us. Though I see it more as several teams passing us rather then us falling. We did garner 15 points in our last 10 games, and are one win away from the top spot in the league, so it's not far fetched to say these power rankings are a bit bogus. Either way the less lime light we gather going into the playoffs the better, I'll gladly welcome the position of underdog over cup favorite.

Guy-love for all! Calder has been just amazing and I'll hand it to Osgood for redeeming himself and recompsing himself after such a frustrating fluke goal. Franzen continues to impress me and that was before his shoot out goal. Also Datsyuk is showing he can play well without Zetterberg and on occasions can become a one man team with his takeaways and moves towards the net. Lang looks to be getting a bit better, hopefully rolling by playoff time and at least he's putting up the numbers offensively. Also tons of guy love for all wings throwing around hits tonight, I think we actually out hit them tonight, I'll have to double check that though.

My take so far on the game; We're doing pretty damn good and it's shaping out to be a grat game despite what the refs are trying to do. Osgood could of easily had stopped that goal, though I'm not blaming him too badly since technically he did stop it, just unluckily trickled through. Not exactly easy to feel the puck through your goalie pads. The reffing has been pure crap, them giving us the 2-man advantage was weak and then it seemed they tried making up for it by giving a barrage of weak calls against us. Which is fine as long as they call Tootoo for his hit from behind or Weber hauling Calder down. Speaking of which Calder has been outstanding, aside from Datsyuk's godlike move he's been out brightest spot so far. I'm hoping he can keep up our late game dominance through this one but really without Zetterberg, we're half the clutch team we are with him in the line-up.

Both teams are wounded pretty badly right now, us more so counting Bertuzzi, and Zetterberg being out is a bigger hit to us than any 2 current roster player's for Nashville. but more importantly I feel Nasheville's a little better on us depth wise and will take it too us despite home ice advantage. So I'm gonna have to say we lose this one sadly, likely something of a 4-3 or 4-2 loss. We'll fall behind early and come up short in the third. P.S. Booter loses in a fight with Tootoo.

The odds of that happening are about one in a million, I mean seriously what are you thinking? Bootland winning a fight, impossible!

I think best case scenario if Booter fights Tootoo, would be Tootoo pulling a May and destroying his shoulder while laying down a haymaker on Bootland.

That really bites, it mystifies me on how America can be so indifferent to a sport like Hockey. I love all sports and basically watch whatever sport I can find on TV, whether it's college basketball between two unranked teams or poker (which is apparently a sport now.) However I can easily say Hockey is far and away the most enjoyable to watch, even despite growing up a Basketball fan hockey won me over easily. Same goes for Soccer really, easily the world's most popular sport yet people barely care about it in the states, what the hell is wrong with us?

I'm thinking Bert will get a shot once he's in the line-up but till then they'll use Rex. I'd like to see Babs give Cleary or Flip the nod though. Cleary tore it up in the preseason last year.

I'm hoping for an interesting rematch on the 20th in Toronto especially if the league does nothing to punish Janssen.

Come playoff time he's going to be even more valuable and on a side note Williams seems to be doing alright with Chicago too, both teams are benefitting well from this 3 way trade. Granted I had extremely vivid nightmarish flashbacks when Williams was playing the point on Chicago's powerplay and he was frozen solid in his tracks when forced to play D against Datsyuk.

Can't think of a better time to rest him than a home game against the Blackhawks, I game we were almost definitely suppose to win. Judging by tonights game we could have afforded to rest half our damn team and still have earned those ever precious 2 points.

Just saw it in the highlights, pretty dirty hit. Kind of looked like it was his shoulder though he was definitely head hunting. I suspect a suspension though it was alot of bad luck for Kaberle to go into the boards like that. Either way I like how Tucker was jarring at Janssen even though he wasn't even uniformed to play.

Read my first post in this thread and throw in the fact he also missed the playoffs. Had he been on Vancouver's roster they'd have beaten Calgary rather than lose it in 7 most likely. Do we remember how Calgary fared that year at all?
