Another simple note, Bertuzzi struck Moore in frustration because he turned his back on him when he challenged him to a fight (never turn your back on an enemy btw.) The punch however didn't cause nearly as much damage as the fact of him toppling forward to the ice unable to protect himself, being stunned from the hit. The ensuing man-pile likely compounded any injuries that were caused by the initial collision with the ice. All of that is irrelavant though when you take into consideration it was far from Bert's intentions for things to go that badly. Besides, Moore deserved to be retaliated against. His hit on Naslund might have been legal, but it was a clear lack of respect to charge someone of Naslund's calibur while he was reaching for the puck to make a play. Intending to injure someone like that is dirty and offensive despite whether legal or not. Had Bertuzzi simply roughed up Moore instead of having things go as badly as they did, he'd have been welcomed a hero in the locker room for standing up for his team's captain. However because Moore unfortunately was injured so badly we're still talking about it today. Had he been alright, and fell slightly different, no one would even care so please let's let this die.

If you ask me even from a realistic pro-Moore standpoint Bertuzzi should still be playing. It'll make that 20 million civil lawsuit Moore and his family is filing against Bertuzzi more feasable since he'll have the big income of playing in the NHL. Bertuzzi's been exiled by many fans, faced constant scorn and served 80 hours community service on top of a year's worth of probation due to an assault charge. So I feel with yet another change of scenery for the big man it's time to switch focus on things. There are alot more intriguing storeis brewing abou the NHL then some incodent that happened years ago on accident.

Dallas, easily my first choice. They were inexcusably bad last year against probably the weakest team in the playoffs. I don't see alot of changes from this year to last in their cards. Minnesota would be my second choice, though they play that defensive style that functions well in the playoffs and have really been alot better with gaborik and Demitra both uninjured. But they essentially offer nothing that we don't already perform to a superior level and aren't that physically punishing of a team. I'm gonna put my big red "Stay away!" sign on Vancouver this year, aside from the fact that we're cursed against all Canadian teams. They especially seem to have our number and Luongo isn't the type of guy you want to see get hot going into the playoffs.

All this eye for an eye talk is nonsense, what's next? You barbarically suggest Bertuzzi gets his neck broken? You're judging this man on one mistake he made and looking rather foolish in the process. Last I checked Bertuzzi was suspended from the league that year making him miss a playoff series were they played Calgary to 7 games nearly beating them. The same Calgary team that beat us and almost won the cup. Want to bet Bertuzzi could have better curved those odds for his Vancouver team? More importanlty than anything Bertuzzi was charged for assault resulting in a year's probation, 80 hours of community service and still has a 20 million dollar civil lawsuit being filed against him! I'm sick of people pretending there was no justice because he's still playing hockey. Moore could easily end up with more money through the court system than he ever would have made as a player, why can't you let this go? P.S. BertuSHE is far and away the lamest insulting nickname I have ever heard, you're embaressing yourself saying it. Please discontinue using it, for your own sake. Edit: Fixed bold test, too used to using ...And if you wanna be a worthless troll go back to letsgoblues.com with the rest of your "detoilet" chiming degenerate friends who have nothing better to do than try and tear down a currently superior team.

I'm following it on NHL radio. I love games like this since we can't really lose. Nashville loses well the benifits are obvious, but even if they win it just puts Dallas further ahead of San Jose. So if we fail to procure the Central division crown we'll meet them (Dallas) in the playoffs and most indefinitely hand Turco his own ass.

Truly a classic. Ha! Ruutu is such a peice of crap but you have to admire how well he plays the role, wouldn't really mind him being a wing.

What is the greatest defenseman in red wings history doing today?
Vincanni replied to Patrick Roy's topic in General
It appears our aquisition of Bertuzzi has drawn the ire of helmet wearing short bus dwellers all across the land to try and rain on our parade. I dunno just a guess, I'm sure most fo these tards are rival fans who are probably just scared -
Ha ha! I forgot all about that one thanks for bringing it up P.S. As for having an all around better head to head record in the regular season, congrads. We here in Detroit now all about how important regular season success is, last years President's Trophy parade was incredible!

Words fall short in describing how badly this sucks
-
After having a night to sleep on it I've finally conjured a complete all-encompassing conclusion about this whole ordeal... No one deserves to have their entire life judged by one moment. So I'm willing to give Bertuzzi another chance here in Detroit. I'm sure millions upon millions of people would be villified as well if the single lowest moment in their life was televised and performed in front of thousands of live spectators. As for those who think he'll be a detriment to our team, you people need a serious reality check. Cut off at the knee's he'll still bring levels of physical play to our team far surpassing anyone else on the roster. The price was beyond reasonable as well.

Because no matter how good they were this past decade they played the role as our *****. It's as simple as that, division rivals always hate succsessful teams.

With that laceration scar on his forehead, Jason Williams looks like Harry Potter.
-
For act II he needs to beat up Steve Ott.
-
Kenny just said at least 10 days and that he wants to make sure nothing is wrong with him at all.
-
You know I always realized he was a crack pot, even though getting a few trades yesterday right (a whole 10 minutes or so before made public, whoop-dedoo.) But really after today I cannot understand how anyone would even bother reading his blog let alone believe it.

Best of luck to you J Willy, now everyone can focus on blaming everything on Lilja again just like it's suppose to be

It's amusing to see how frequent the term "Whiney *****" appears in this thread. Though I can't argue, that is far and away the perfect term to describe MacTavish.
-
I feel bad for Drury, is he just cut or is it anything worse such as a concusssion?
-
Not sure if this has been pointed out or not, don't exactly feel motivated to saunter through every page of thise thread but... I can't remember the last time I saw a team record more goals than cummulative assists in a game, or at least not one were as many as four goals were registered. Just a little oddity I found noteworthy to point out. All around I'm proud of this game. Defintely not an easy victory but it's nice to see our late game play can reliably sink a sub par early effort, and good goal tending to make that possible.
-
Agreed, I was going to make the same point you just beat me to it.

Borrowed from Norrisnick's youtube stock. ...And of course Mike Legg's classic.
-
Might have been a real problem had he been the size of a normal human. Seems he has some awful luck with taking shots in the wrong places.

Proud represenative of the 90% here. Sorry I can't be more help.

Get well shanny! This is really gonna screw over new York's playoff hopes. On a side note anyone else think Philly might be playing beyond their normal realm of physicality in order to showcase grit for playoff teams like the Wing's trying to bulk up a bit? I know they're trying to peddle Sanderson and moved him on the top line that game, for showcase reasons.
