WCF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 3 at Blackhawks 4 (OT)
Vincanni replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
For posterity sake I don't believe in anti-team officiating conspiracies, but its obvious the Refs try their best to prolong series and rape the team with the big league in the series. This is just another sterling example of how much a joke this league has become. Biggest hit of the god damn playoffs and 100% legal, but these incompetent jackasses taint it with their idiocy. I'd rather this game have no refs then these worthless piles of s***. A random fan from the audience could do a better job than this losers. -

I'm turning this game off, f*** the NHL and their completely worthless refs. Chicago gets 11 minutes of PP time to the Wings 0 when it should be even at 2 penalty minutes a piece, Chicago with 4 at the very most. No offense to Chicago fans and Havlat's safety but he better not see another second of ice time this game to even come close to justifying that absolute joke of a penalty. -

Scratch what I said earlier, if we're getting a bulls*** 5 minute major for a clean hit I hope Havlet's out for the season. -

Absolutely badass hit, though I don't really want Havlat to be injured, just shaken up. -

Wow, sucks that my prediction is really looking like its going to come true, at least I'm not surprised the Wings are losing this one. -

Well we could have already started this game down 1-0 since you knew the WIngs where going to give up a PP goal automatically. -

Holy crap does Dustin Byfuglien sound like Brian Posehn. -
While I agree with your inkling, I typically don't discuss such things until they're set in stone. Besides there's going to be some mandatory downtime between the CFs and the SCFs so we'll have more then enough time to discuss this to death then.

I never saw the Wings sweeping the kiddy hawks and tonight seems as likely as any to be the one that got away. Hawks win 4-3 and before I get the anti-negativity tirade, let me just say I really hope I'm wrong and I have a terrible record of picking against the Wings. -
Its getting difficult to gauge just how good the Pens are, the Canes overachieved to get where they are and have to be exhausted, but the Pens look spectacular against them. I'm thinking though their late game dominance breathes more life into my theory that Carolina just has nothing left at this point. Easily Malkin has been their biggest asset as he was a ghost last playoffs and now he's on fire, Crosby has also increased his play a bit, still hard to judge if that's enough to make up for losing Hossa as he was their best playoff performer last year. I'd say they're about as good as they where last season, though better tested as last year they practically waltzed to the finals.

What I was thinking, this could be devastating if a lose would put us behind in the series.

Oops, misread today's boxscore the heat must be getting to me, I need to put an A/C in my ardently electronic filled room. Yeah the homers happened yesterday so the offer should be good today.

Today, Tigers had three HRs by the 3rd inning and the game's still on. I believe the rationale is to bring in the newspaper boxcore, so they aimed the deal for the day after.

Chicago is one of my favorite non-Wing teams and I will definitely root for them if they find a way into the SCF this year or next. I somewhat dislike Byfuglien, but that's about it. Some of their fans erk me the wrong way, but I could say that about any team, even for the Wings.

I was actually under the impression when this happens the free roast beef sandwich is redeemable the day after. Unless that was just for Hockey because of the evening games.

In my opinion realistically the MVP should go to the Goalie almost every playoff year, after all he is the only player on the ice for a full 60 minutes every game for the most part. So in my eyes a goalie really has to shine and put a team on his back to win it. Ozzie though, does fit into a unique situation with our team as no one player has really blown up these players save maybe for Cleary who's just playing so much better than in the regular season, not too mention Osgood has also raised his game at least 2 fold for the playoffs. So if you're going to factor in improvement, so far it has to be between Ozzie and Cleary, but for my pick of overall excellence I'd say Lidstrom edges them both out so far. A political answer? Sure, but I think its fitting.

Seriously, having the Wings post here occasionally is the only thing this forum is missing. Granted its hard to imagine them not having better things to do with their time right now.

There is no conspiracy at all, the refs are just completely inept at their job. If you start any game watching one team exclusively its going to seem like the refs are biased against them, but if you re-watch the game again from the other side you'll notice the same thing. Plain and simple, the refs suck and do a terrible job almost every game especially in the playoffs when so much is let go. They routinely let obvious penalties go and then crack down on incidents like cinchy little hooks and holds that don't even effect the game. Granted stylistically, swallowing the whistle helps the team short on skill and higher in strength/grit as we all clearly saw in the Ducks series. However, I don't see how any Chicago fan can complain, for a team that opened the Vancouver series taking 7 penalties in the first half of the game, so far they've had more time on the PP than the Wings have had who all year round have committed fewer penalties.
