They outplayed us in the first some and when we sat on our lead, they also outshot us, but we threw far more rubber at their net (even though we probably missed a good 20 shots or so,) controlled the puck more. and most importantly had more scoring chances. It wasn't pretty and yes a very close game, but I thought we played better then them just to the degree that an OT victory was justified. -

Well Chicago looked a lot better tonight, of course Ozzie was more than up to the task and our Team D and back checking is still doing a great job. However, the Wings can not sit back with the lead ever, Chicago has good depth and youth and are just a terrible team to do this with especially in the third, not that ever sitting on a lead is a good idea. -

I sometimes think these games would be better off without refs altogether, you miss blatant as day interference and tripping calls then call something as soft as that, same went for some Hawks penalties too. They only seem to be calling cinchy crap when they feel like it rather then even trying to call things consistently. -

If you ask me this shoots the crap out of the refs taking the Pens to the cup conspiracy, but definitely raises ire towards the league's potential attempt to manufacture drama and prolong series. Or it could simply just be Staal taking a risk by "cheating" and getting away with it like many many players do. -

I see a growing rivalry and feel Anaheim can easily survive a shift of leaders with the current youth on their roster even after their current vets retire or sign elsewhere, but at best its not going to be even half the rivalry we had with Colorado.

Great ending to a pretty damn good game. Looked rather even, through ans through, a few bounces go in different directions and this game could have been entirely different.

Good to see Danny O' is getting his fix elsewhere and not against us, though I'd say that's pretty legit.

Talk about deflating, spectacular PP by the Canes then you get scored on by the devil.

Had the refs been like that on us during the Ducks we'd have had about 70 more PP chances that series me thinks.

I've yet to read a single analysis picking the Canes which confuses me since there are quite a few picking Chicago over the Wings and look who the Cane's have already dispatched this off season.

Thankfully he was in a position to be able to recoil some to buffer the blow, also he must have some pretty thick skin on top of that. Either way, very scary incident and luckily he's alright.

Forgot who did it, but during the 01-02 season they showed on the jumbo tron the wings bench, but instead of using live footage they had pretaped footage of a bunch of old men in Wings jerseys and I thought it was really funny. -
I actually think Quenneville is a great regular season coach. However his inability to make proper adjustments and lack of defensive focus doom him to fail in the playoffs. Also, yes I was aware of this streak since last year. You have to think Joel Q has nightmares about the Red Wings, not only have they routinely made him thier *****, but gone on to win the cup afterwords, usually in lop-sided fashion during the finals.
