You know, I doubted Ozzie many times this season, granted I acknowledged his gradual improvement hoping it'd carry through out the playoffs, but daaaaaamn that 1st period was sick and blew any expectations I had out of the water.

These refs are terrible, which likely means we'll see them in the finals.

2006 was "Bring it." "Get your red on" was their slogan for 2001. While I don't mind "The beard is back" as it gives something for the fans ot draw on and have fun with despite being rather lame, my personal favorite was from 2002 where our slogan was " Let 'em see red." One of the few that didn't make me cringe.

Translation: I will go above and beyond last year to rig calls in their favor to see them back in the finals and this time win it!

Already have a ton of Wings merch all around the room, only thing I do separately is set up a little glowing Wings mini monument/statue on top of my TV and occasionally turn it on when we need a rally.

Bill Clement picked the Wings to win the cup in '06 when we lost in the first round to Edmonton, when everyone was expecting us to choke yet again. He was actually the only television analyst I recall picking us that year which I personally watched. So 1. He doesn't have some secret agenda to put down the Wings, and 2. He's inaccurate, don't worry its just one opinion and it isn't like we don't have a semi recent history of flubbing in the 1st round against a hot goalie and last I checked Columbus has a pretty good guy between the pipes on their end.

Avs have really been in some high scoring affairs the past couple days.

Columbus easily. Very little playoff experience, close proximity to Detroit, wouldn't have to stay up past midnight or well beyond to watch road games, Pronger's elbow doesn't play for them, etc. Only downside with Columbus is there's more potential for us mailing games in and underestimating them. Also it'd be great to be the team that knocks Anaheim out of the playoffs since they stole our cup a couple years ago.

Avs went to OT tonight and play tomorrow on a back to back, they're also absolutely terrible this year and missing their leading scorer while St. Louis has been one of the hottest teams in the league the second half of the season, yet I can't help but get an uneasy feeling that Colorado is going to screw us over and somehow pull off the upset.

Columbus virtually out of this game, now we have to root for either the Ducks or the Blues to win.

We root for St Louis to beat Colorado tomorrow. Things looking good for us at the moment not having to travel to the West coast for round 1. Colorado's game went into overtime meaning they might be a little more tired against St Louis tomorrow on the back to back and Anaheim is losing which could swap the two in the standings. Though the Anaheim game is young, Columbus is losing meaning even if Anaheim comes back Columbus can fall into the 7th spot putting our road games within driving distance.
