Funny when I heard one of the refs was a Chicago native I thought nothing of it. Whatever, at least the Blackhawk faithful know deep down in their hearts they won a tainted game on a BS penalty shot and that we've owned them every other game legitimately.

To the bandwagon's defense Edmonton was a strong contender for our 1st round who Conks was lights out against, and Ozzie was consistently in the bottom 3 stat wise for most of the season. Of course Ozzies been getting better and better while Conklin's doing the opposite.

My how Conks has fallen, still early in the game but he seems to have gotten worse as the season went on, same thing last year too.

Mixed feelings on this, though as I was part of the Franzen + a little more cap space > Hossa, I'm happier than I am sad. The only part that worries me is the length of the deal, but if it can push the anuual cap hit to below 4 million a year I'm all for this.

Great analysis, but either way we're playing a team we've struggled against at lengths with Columbus, or one of the two hottest teams in the league post all-star break. Still Anaheim is the worse of the lot, considering travel and goon-like play, but it would be fun to beat them in the 1st round if we get the chance.

Cherry is dead on concerning most obvious points that any casual fan can point out and he's good for the sport in the same way Maggie the monkey is. Sans his obvious ethnocentric xenophobia he's a real analyst, but unfortunately he's mostly just an opinionated blowhard. I don't mind him too much considering he speaks his mind at least, granted he is a bit of an idiot.

Only real disappointment from tonight was Datsyuk not getting a point, I'd actually love to see all five central teams make the playoffs and this made that possible and we still got a point out of it. Edit: Forgot to mention Hossa's injury, that'd be the other dissapointment I felt from the game. Still don't give a dman about the lose at this point of the season.

Lol that's like something out of Slapshot, Sean Avery is such a D-bag. However, you can not deny he adds excitement to every game he plays.

Tough call on who to root for in the San Jose/Anaheim game. I would like to believe we still have an outside chance to catch San Jose for the conference lead and Anaheim whom I definitely don't want to play in the 1st could easily catch the 6th spot assuming they keep their hot streak. Yet I would love San Jose to be forced to play Anaheim in the 1st round and if the Sharks win tonight it'll make that become more likely along with St Louis winning tonight could make the Blues our 1st round match up which I would adore. Gah! too much to think about!

While I'll always take a guy with a clean record over one who redeemed themselves, I will always root for any attempt an individual makes to get his shattered life back on the right path.

The Pacific division has been a landfill this year. The only way you could justifiably grant San Jose a #1 especially at this juncture of the season where they're not even 1# in the league with points would be if they where absolutely running away with the president's trophy, much like the Wings did in 05-06, except we actually had another playoff team in our division (Nashville ranked 4th in the West) while the Pacific is essentially San Jose sitting atop a heap of garbage in a shiny throne.

A team like the Kings proves how amazing our Wings truly are. A guy who couldn't even make our roster is their best defense men.

Great game today, Ozzie was solid, confident and didn't come unraveled in a playoff like game where a lot of calls where being let go, especially with the goalie interference. We also flashed our scoring brilliance with 3 goals in 46 seconds with Dats really finding his shot through those screens. Little to complain about really, granted we have another weekend b2b ender against Columbus tomorrow where we can practically spot Nash 3 goals so I'm not that confident in our wings, but it was a great effort and I hope keeps improving like that. However, Wings win tomorrow and show solid D and I'll be very happy.

I'm the last guy to blame a lose on one player, but Conklin was absolutely horrendous the entire game and I think I would have done better in goal for the shoot out, of course had the Wings played maybe 20% their maximum effort instead of 0% in the 3rd we'd have easily one. Classic embarrassing Red Wings lost and yes I am very concerned for the playoffs.

That is easily the most obnoxiously annoying commercial I have ever heard and yet I can't help but describe it as brilliant, truly this generation's greatest dichotomy.
