Was going to poit out a few silver linings being Ozzie possibly coming in and playing great to boost confidence and the fact that they stopped playing the obnoxious "I like it, I love it." But low and behold they score on Ozzie immediately and I'm listening to that god damn Tim McGraw song.

This is madness.

Its bizzaro world!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, if we don't start playing better we're not going to win this game.
-
Nashville always comes out of the gate hot I wouldn't be too worried, except for the fact we played last night so both teams might end up fading. Someone needs to step it up.

Anyone getting flashbacks of last years playoffs?

We need a third thread of this vein entitled, " Who is the Red Wing that has performed exactly as you expected."
-
Who is the most improved Red Wing from last season?

I never dogged on Lilja before hand with the exception of a few gigantic mistakes made over the years so his production this year is no surprise whatsoever. Jiri wins this hands down, he's finally hitting the potential I thought we see from him last year. -
Very hard to argue against Ozzie on this one, still hoping he can turns thing around or at least continue to play like he did against the Kings. Just an unbelievable drop in performance after a spectacular year. Val gets my runner-up vote, I thought he'd be amazing this year and instead he's merely been average.

I enjoyed the sneak preview we got of playoff-mode Dastyuk.
-
Pass, I'd rather not be "forced" into rooting for this ****** bag on the grounds that he'd help the team I love.

Is it just me or has the excitement of Z scoring escalated since he signed a life time contract with us?

I once again believe in hockey karma now!

A couple weeks ago I actually had the same gut feeling as I was looking over the Sens roster. This move wouldn't surprise me at all, but the more I think about it the less I'm expecting it to happen.

Every player in the NHL I dislike I do so for an entirely rational reason. However, I still carry around an irrational dislike for the Colorado Avalanche even though the rivalry is dead, their team is rather lousy, and nothing but classy likable players from the earlier days for the most part remain. Granted my hatred for them has cooled into a meek disliking, but its still there and no matter how much I try to relinquish the thought, I just can't help but root against them. I think I've been classically conditioned to dislike them no matter what largely in part due to a local acquaintance from Colorado who loved them and constantly talked s*** about the Wings, as well as the general attitude that represents the bulk of their fanbase.

Wouldn't be a season nearing the trade deadline without Gratton switching a team. Quality pick up for Columbus.
-
Nope, the current players ahead of him have almost double the percentage of their teams offensive focus filtered through them. Not too mention Datsyuk's bogged down by his versatile array of talents requiring him to play defense and supplement our team's PK.

Really hope Jimmy can get a win tonight, seems like he always plays a good game yet our team finds a way to lose whenever he's in net.

Vancouver at the moment is the team I'd really rather not face, seems they've always played us well through out the years and their potential to shut down offenses will make our biggest question mark in goal tending even more crucial since we'll be seeing close games. I hope we could somehow face off against Nashville, though them making the playoffs is a reach so I'll pick Minnesota. No matter what however I would absolutely love to see Chicago in rounds two or even the finals, but I can't help but feel we'll need to knock of San Jose at some point no matter what if we want to keep our SCF hopes alive. Lastly, it seems our dominance over Dallas is switching up a bit this year and I'd almost feel concerned matching up against them at any point, more so than ever in recent history.

Two weeks ago I was wondering why they hadn't toyed with this idea yet, glad to see they're going to try it out and hope it works well. Of course I also hope Ozzie finds his stride, but at this point in the season I'm placing more faith on Howard outperforming Conklin than Ozzie by a rather wide margin.

Seems to me Osgood's continual inconsistency to control the rebound forces the defense to play differently and definitely not for the better.
-
Damn, hope this doesn't derail their season. I'm still dreaming of a Wings/Habs finals no matter how far fetched that's starting to look.

Would have loved to see Hudler go with Sullivan, one of the few players he could potentially rag doll.
-
That's awesome.

Tootoo needs an honorable mention as one of our stars tonight. He's been terrible, just gave us that goal practically, as well as being the recipient of a lovely hit.
