Always been a fan of both Sammy and Lilja and believed most criticism aimed at either one is the direct byproduct of playing along such amazing players like Lidstrom, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg, but considering their salary cap hit they're quality editions to the team and this year have been especially effective so I couldn't be happier.

Damn, for some unknown reason I thought this game started at three and on my drive home tuned in to listen to the pregame only to hear the tail end of the third. At least I was able to listen to us score a couple, but still this isn't basketball I actually enjoy following the whole game. Also, does anyone else think Conks starting two straight on a back to back weekend is a good indicator that he's officially the starting goalie now?

Well its official, GSP is the UFC's pound for pound best fighter. He just added a new definition to the word 'Domination' in his dismantling of the obviously over-matched BJ Penn. Truly he is on another level and I feel his only true competition might be against middle-weights from here on out. Of course there is still Thiago Alves, but he walks at well over 200 pounds from what I understand and is practically a middle-weight so I stand by my statement.

Wow, that was hores***. I don't care how accidental that might have been Franzen was elbowed in the head and he didn't even have the freaking puck.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2008...&id=3420092 A little factual evidence as to why that tool Dano hates Detroit since quite a few people are referencing this incident.

Almost got into a horrific pile-up accident along US-23 North in Genesee on my way to school, and then nearly flew off the road at a I-69 off ramp, though shortly after this news story broke and completely made my day. Real happy to know he'll be a Wing for the rest of his career pending the unthinkable.

Just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone else watched Affliction's sophomore event. It was absolutely spectacular and even better than the first. Just about every fight ended in a finish all culminating into Fedor knocking out an air-born Arlovski to beat yet another former UFC HW champion in the 1st round. Andre actually looked really good beforehand, but with Fedor's power I knew it was a matter of time before he landed a knock out blast or took it to the ground and submitted him. Fedor truly is the p4p best in the sport and along with GSP, personifies the complete mixed martial artist like none other.

I already was, now I'll drag as many people I know along with me. Of course jackass will probably chalk up the lower rating is any to Crysby not being in the game.

My underlining thought throughout the entire third was my underlying regret towards giving up drinking as a new year's resolution. Oh well, thank god the AS break begins now.
-
Well that was great, get doubled up by a terrible team and drop our best forward as well as a top 4 D-man to injury. If only we could emulate such luck and greatness more often.
-
Incredible representation last night, an angle during a goal in the third looked home crowd-like with the way you all jumped up.
-
*Phew* Thought they were calling tripping there, missed the hand pass.
-
Interesting point, if you look at all the top goalies in the league all except for Tim Thomas (5'11) is over 6'0. Then at the bottem six you only get one over 6'0. I don't think its all that matters of course, could be a developing trend however.

Not like he's been god awful, but largely why he could';t do anything about the others is that he's flopping around on his butt out of position when it isn't called for and then takes forever to get back up. He seems very shaky out their, might even be battling through some nagging injury. Even on the Ducks power play prior to his softie he was far out of the box giving up the empty net unnecessarily. Thankfully our D stood up that time and stuffed any scoring chance, but he needs to play more like the Ozzie we all know and love and less like an extremely slow Hasek. We have momentum now so I really believe we'll still win barring a flukey goal.
-
Damn earlier Dats and then Franzen with the same exact move, only the mule ran out of room while a marval of a defensive play stopped Datsyuk.
-
I was actually thinking how I wished that was Pronger injured, but I remember the game he took a slapshot to the chest and collapsed. No matter how much I despise that D-bag that was a bit scary, really I never wish injuries on anyone anytime.
-
Hopefully no more injuries tonight.
-
Ozzies softest of the night, the others could have been prevented with good D granted he still has been over committing a lot on cutting down the angles, but geez it sucks to see all our chances go by the wayside and then them slip in a softie like that.
-
Well that was deflating, would have been nice for Ozzie to have a game lower his GAA for a change.
-
Had that been against Fairy or Pronger it might have been worth it.
-
Babcock must have given the team a Braveheartesque speech at half time or something, completely different team here in the 2nd.
-
Does anyone on LGW call him Rex anymore? I miss that.
-
Daaamn that thing went in with some heat. Great shot by the little guy.
-
Very nice way to come out in the second and of course Pronger's stellar defensive play once again leads him to take a stupid penalty rather than properly handle the puck.
-
Clearly we need some extra support tonight, I invoke the usage of Jerome Chelios to our aid!
