I was thinking the exact same thing.

In all honesty if we were to call everything Turco's done thus far we'd have at least 4 more power plays, and that's just weighing in his delay of game penalty just now, him punching Homer in the back of his head, tripping Flipper, and when he played the puck out of his zone earlier on. I'm sure I'm missing at least a few more.

I would be remiss to not post at least once on this thread before game's end. We're looking pretty good thus far, not as dominant as game 1 of course but I can't believe how much we're outhitting them and dear lord the face-off circle has been a slaughter house for us. Anyways I've began drinking and as previously mentioned that has brought ill-tidings to us previously so if things go south quickly, it'll add further merit to my superstition of rarely drinking during games.
-
Dammit! Who brought Kryptonite into the freaking locker room?
-
With Franzen now out this game it's importance is amplified two fold. Thankfully we have the depth to beat this easily and it likely means we get McCarty back in the line-up I'd assume. Still this worries me terribly about our scoring depth.

I'm wondering if I should grab a six-pack of some alcoholic substance tonight with it being my only real day off this week. Normally I'd do it without a second thought, but when I drink when watching games this playoffs we're amazingly 0-2, and in one of those games we had the lead, then lost it after I began drinking. Not overly superstitious but I found this to be remarkably odd.

I think the Wings wil win tonight but rather than predict the score I'm going to predict the excuse spewed forth by Dallas afterwards. I thinks the refs will be with then obvious enough tonight to keep that from being the chief excuse, still leaves fatigue wide open to claim sole possession of number 1 excuse.
-
I've always thought it best for our opponent's to blame excuses rather than address the actual problems. Though it is disheartening to see such media outlets continually disrespect us, it seems for how routinely dominant we've been there's been no comparable sports team that receives less credit for their accolades. There are the few who give us props but the utter polarity in how we're perceived seems to suggest obvious bias. Hopefully if things keep up as they have been they'll run out of excuses sometimes after or 16th victory (knock on wood,) but until then it seems these so-called experts are just waiting for us to fail so they can all say, "I told you so." After all it seems the popular "expert" thing to do, is to pick against the conspicuous favorite and try to find diamonds in the rough. Since we've been that number one I feel they're attempting to do just that, though making excuses to support their decision is just asinine.

It's all politics from the coaches perspective, doing all they can to try and give their team an advantage. My guess is that the coaches feel that the more then whine and cry like little babies with spoiled diapers the more likely that the refs will steal a goal from Homer, which happened several times early this regular season even though they were legitimate goals.

Exceptional game, thought they'd be rusty but aside from the first few minutes they controlled that game entirely.
-
At this point of domination I'm actually kind of glad Dallas scored. Let them focus on getting back into the game and waste energy rather than "try to send a message" for later down on in the series by gooning it up any, not that Dallas is Calgary or Anaheim or anything.
-
Helm is pure energy, I love watching him motor down the ice with the puck.

So far we scored two goals because Lehtinen was in the dressing room and on an apparent soft call, then the last because Homer interfered with Turco, meanwhile Kronwall left his feet too deliver a hit apparently (though it was clearly afterwards from recoil) and I remember them bitching about him going slightly out of position to cover a Star player even though the player was successfully defended. Yep I love Versus!

Just for the record the most dangerous players against us so far this post season are far from top-liners. Guys like Tootoo and Laperriere were the closest thing we had to banes in our last couple series. Morrow is a good quality player with a wise array of skills but aside from chipping in he's not going to be a game breaker. If the Stars want to win they'll do it as a team, no single star player is going to single handedly show up the best defensive team in the league. Morrow worries me some on the powerplay as we'll have a hard time shutting him down short a man, but for some crazy reason and looking into the recent past as an example, I think Ott is going to be huge for the Stars and arguably their best player from the series. I just have a hunch.

It begins... It seems Turco is looked at as a great goalie by pretty much everyone except for Wing fans, I rather like that concept and wish for it's continuation. Let's do to him what we did to "Three or Four."

WE GONNA TEAR YOU UP SO BAD YOU GONNA WISH YOU WA NEVA BORN! ARRRRGH!! Just kidding, just kidding. I actually love the Stars, likely my second favorite team and I think Mike Madano is a hero to American hockey and amidst my favorite non-wing players. Welcome to our forums and I hope for a great series, also for the record if the Wings fall I will DEFINITELY be rooting for Dallas to win the cup.

Also for the record I am a fan of his and always enjoyed him as a commentator. Furthermore, I would love to see him and Thorney team up again.

He's doing local color commentating for the Flyer's .

Interesting to see how little emphasis is placed on how we actually faired against one another this year in the regular season. I know the playoffs are somewhat of a different game, but then again even that should favor us as we disposed of our opponents easier and with taking less physical punishment. How soon we forget that Dallas' only beat us once this season and while I hate making excuses that win was during our February meltdown were we had our largest losing streak of the decade, was in Dallas, was against our third-string goalie, while we were without half of our current starting defense men. Predicting a 7 game series does pretty much constitute a toss up in the minds of the analyst, but I was actually expecting us to be predicted as the favourite for once considering some of the most obvious facts. Can't blame this prediction too much however, Dallas has played like a team possessed and if I were to take a stab at a prediction my slightly biased view would say Wings in 7.

Ryan Clowe with the game winner! You heard it here first!
-
Anyone who dares say the NHL doesn't have the greatest playoffs in all professional sports needs to watch this game, there would be no refutation.
-
I'm confirming thos as the best OT period so far this playoffs, I don't want this game to end!
-
Dear lord, this may be the best game of the playoffs so far!

For Vs. watchers... Wow they mentioned the Brenden Morrow Hattrick (one goal, three disallowed,) they must have read through our game 5 thread because I coined that phrase, those plagirising bastards!
