I'm sure there's probably someone somewhere who'd be willing to talk s*** about Mother Theresa too. No matter how great someone is there is always an exception to that belief.
-
Sucks that ND won, but they obviously were playing better in OT. Doesn't help that Michigan had to pull Sauer in the 1st either.
-
Notre Dame putting Michigan on their heels in early OT, I have faith though.
-
Graaaah! Too much Hockey head a splode! Michigan ties it and Ducks and Flames though not playing each other are in a heated suck contest with the Ducks winning so far.
-
Had Dallas scored there Pronger might have done something that'd make him miss a whole game, you know like on-ice homicide, though that might grant him a 2-gamer.
-
Surprised we don't have a heavier contingent following the NCAA Semi-finals between Michigan and Notre Dame right now, tied 3-3 in the third on ESPN2.
-
Wow, the Ducks are stinking up the pond.

My random notes and observations from game 1: - Good to see us selling out our games again and the crowd was pretty wild, this defintely makes me happy. - Zata is CLUTCH! - Hasek looks pretty darn solid though he wasn't really tested, Ellis looked good too, not great, I feel most of our chances that went by the wayside were either post shots, or just instances of failed execution by us being 2% off on the play. I also think our garbage shot total was at worse equal with Nashville's so that's a good trend to see us stray from partially. - I don't care what anyone says, Sammy was pretty good tonight and Hudler even had his moments though he needs to shoot the damn puck. I swear he and Sammy are polar opposites of each other, if only we could combine the best assets of both we'd have one hell of a player. - In retrospect I liked the Kronnic hit. Dirty? Yes. Untimely? yes. But it sent an alright message by a team of "softies." No one was hurt (Kronwall either, thank god) and maybe Nashville won't be taking things so lightly now on us aforementioned "softies." Hope that plays with their heads some. - Redmond is the best local sports color commentator anywhere. loved what he had to say when Tootoo charged one of our guys. - Michigan is playing TERRIBLE against Notre Dame, kind of dampens my mood =/

I am all down with the ugly goal by the by.
-
Loving the doom and gloom here guys, you'd swear we were losing with the way everyone's reacting. Relax, we are controlling the game and Nashville is struggling to keep up, one fluke goal doesn't change that. It's not like they figured us out and we're any sort of trouble. Worse comes to worse we're in the same boat as San Jose only against a weaker team, and to be honest adversity like this is good for us as a team.

Can't express how much I'm looking forward to this tonight, not as tense as I usually am come the playoffs, but then again aside from Tootoo really there isn't a whole lot to dislike about the Pred's team. Of course if it hits OT there will be a different tale to tell. I foresee a close one tonight, 2-1 Wings in the end however.
-
Looks like a goal to me.
-
Holy crap that's close, I think Cal might have a 3-1 lead.

Hanta yo baby!

Sounds like an Elwood commercial.

My guess is the Zidlicky and the arena are shopped in, but the "3" itself is not. I'm pretty sure it's some bizarre tribute to Dale Earnhardt actually, still might explain the regional culture startlingly well.

Good to hear. I actually don't mind Sammy at all and think he's a decent depth quality guy who's pad shots could actually yield tons of chances for ugly goals for us so it's good to hear he's ready to go. Besides with our top two lines looking pretty tight, he'll make a great 3rd liner.

Who Else Stays Up Late and Blows Work Off During Playoffs?
Vincanni replied to Firehawk's topic in General
Unfortunately there is no Luongo to repeat the epic struggle that predicated the creation of the Late Night Crew this playoff run, though I could something of the sort stemming form the San jose/Calgary series for some ominous reason. -
A little bit from column A, a little bit from column B.

This is the same city that has continually birthed interest in the Detriot Lions, and from what I have garnered from listening to local sports talk radio is that this has only causes most people in the Detroit area to talk even more about the Tigers. However, they just moan, *****, and talk about what's wrong, which is the same thing with the Lions I do think in the long run it the Red Wings might harness a bit more coverage because of it though, Tigers have to completely prove they're mediocre first and beyond help however, and the Wings will probably have to show us something in the post season first. It's hard to get excited about Detroit/Nashville, however judging by the way we local sport fans seems to prioritize, Wings will make top news if we blow the first 3 games and fall behind 0-3 in the series.

Livingston County represent! ...Okay so that's not too far away nor impressive, but still go Wings!

My tradition to not have any traditions has seen to take a drastic turn this year. Primarily forged during our debacle of February were I noted we played worse it seemed every time I drank during a game. I ceased watching the games inebriated in anyway and low and behold we started winning again (Lidstrom coming back might have had a slight factor in the equation as well.) So for the playoffs, I plan to only drink in celebration of the Red Wings, not during their actual performance.

I don't get this one. Scenery is a bit weird, but all I see is a normal unshopped Barry Trotz.

Lappy has digressed into a giant turd this season, a sad state for a once honorable and admirable warrior of the ice. Glad it happened though, should make the Minnesota/Colorado one of the best if not the best first round match up.

Let us not forget Daniel Cleary who becomes Wolfman a few weeks into playoff beard mode.
