Too many nicknames are creating by adding the -y at the end of the first syllable of a player's last name, and they always end up making them sound like puppies, so I vote Kader. Besides Darth Kader kicks ass.

My guess is it was an attempt to "send a message" considering they'll be well acquainted over the next couple weeks. Funny how that game started off as an exhibition no-contact game, then ended with Lappy failing to intimidate Gaborik and as you stated likely just painted a big red bull's eye on his arse. Should be a great playoff series.

Yes but only to rest him (or protect him from a dirty play,) the talk before today was for him to sit out the entire game, instead they let him start but pulled him early on.

Sonuva... Why is the sopcast channel offline?
-
Yeah I know I was only joking. I actually happen to like Versus and while not devoid of flaws, I have enjoyed the production improvements they've pulled off over the last couple years, and yes their promos are pretty damn good, this newest one being no exception to that.

Realistically Tiger Woods doesn't make a list of the top 1,000 toughest athletes in the world let alone make the number 1 spot, no golfer should. Maybe the most dominant athlete in his sport of all time, but not tough by any real definition of the word. This is the toughest man in the world of sports today... ...Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, there is no debating this. Good to see Chelios get so much recognition though above almost all NHLers though.

Dear lord, we were given opposable thumbs for a reason, why is that goof benching in that manner with that much weight? Anyways I think we should bench anyone who's not 100% and for the most part just restrict ice time. I'd like to see all of our top guys out on the power plays for numerous reasons. It would be incredible to see Datsyuk break the 100 point barrier, I'd love for Raflaski to officially hit his career high in points, and let us not forget it is the last home game of the regular season and I feel the players have some duty to give the fans a good show.

I actually have a slight fear of Pittsburgh coming out of the East better than ever with Crosby rejoining the fray, though I would personally love nothing more than a Montreal/Detroit finals. I also feel we would win such a match up barring catastrophic injury.

BRING ON THE PAIN! Wings in 5.

Speaking of Ott, this happened later on in the same game. Carcillo is awesome.
-
It would be more advisable for them to try and grab the 6th spot and play Minnesota.

It is rather nice to know we handled San Jose this season with a trio of multi-goal victories. Also our only lose was sans Lidstrom/Rafalski amidst our slump, and due to a BS goal.

I actually feel sorry for Vancouver, glad we won't have to play them but damn was a disappointing game/season for them. Practically played an entire period's worth of hockey on the power play and still lost, and with 2 men in the box too as the final buzzer sounded after coming within a shot of keeping their season alive. All of this on home-ice as well, sucks for them, I'm off to bed. Edit: sleepy grammar.

This is easily the longest this game has gone without a penalty.

I'm currently gaging between getting sleep as I work early tomorrow morning, or staying up to watch Edmonton kamikaze itself into Vancouver's season. Damn I hate these decisions, of course come playoff time I will likely suffer from a few bouts of playoff induced insomnia.

Canuck fans are readying the Kool-aid as we speak.
-
I am sure there are very few things more frustrating than being a Canuck's fan right now. How bad was the boarding penalty? Suspension worthy, any injuries on it?
-
I wouldn't call him one of our top three contributers tonight but I am definitely a fan. I loved him as a Spartan and I feel he has adapted rather well thus far. He is exactly the type of player we could use in the playoffs, I can not agree with this any more especially with Kopecky possibly missing some time with his injury tonight, not too mention I think his play has surpassed anything Kopecky's done for us so far. However it still is just one game so I can not be too quick to judge.

I love how the audience keeps chanting at the refs, just imagine if Holmstrom played for the Blues.

Best possible outcome for a Wing's fan, we win and still give Nashville a point to put them past Vanoucer for the 8 spot. We're also going to have to get an I.D. on the forum member with the Franzenstein sign when they get back

Yeah that is correct, satire and sarcasm translate terribly over the internet. I was just poking fun at Patty "guns" Wah's fighting prowess and willingness to engage only far smaller opponents.
