Heh almost seems like they're retiring numbers to compensate for their lack of accolades over the decade. I jest with this notion more than I aim to be serious. But hey, who can deny nothing says, "look at the success of our past" like retiring numbers?

Detroit/Ottawa, as much as I'd love to see a historical match up between us and the Rangers I really feel that not only this would be an amazingly fun series to watch but I feel our top line is a bit more versatile and we get more scoring contributions from depth players and defense to give us the edge. That and Ottawa usually does sharply run out of steam each year in the playoffs at some point. Plus I love the overbearing national pull of having a Canadian team in the finals. I don't see how you can go wrong with any Canadian team vs. the States top hockey city (I saw the Yahoo! sorts pole results so don't give me any of that Minnesota crap.)

Well that was pretty much inevitable, at least we killed as much of it as we did, could have won some of those face offs though.

While I guess I'm overall happy with the results that was a rough period for us. We still have the bulk of that 2-man advantage (Nash was penalized but he looked like he was shot with a howitzer and the other guy tripped over his own feet) to kill off and our 5-on-5 has been lackluster. Ozzy's been solid though a little careless in controlling the rebounds but seeing Lidstrom this offensively strong gives me a lot of confidence for the rest of the game.

Oh geez that was soft, can't complain entirely since we got ours but that was pretty damn weak.

Man I wish they kept a stat for penalties drawn. Downey just earned a hat trick in that department if so the case.

Eh, before anyone jumps down my throat for bashing Hasek realize this is the first time I've openly bashed him ever. I want to have hope he'll turn it around but he only seems to be getting worse and I can only blind myself from the truth for so long. 10 starts now and nothing is changing, only getting worse, I've waited and waited and after a certain point you just have to come to the realization that he really is below average and nothing's going to change that sadly. I love Hasek and he's truly a legend but it's becoming increasingly evident that his time in the NHL is coming closer to an end. Oh well, it's just the regular season. I'm out of here, maybe watching a bunch of bald guys beat each other up in a cage in tonights UFC will turn around my spirits.

I can't remember a team playing worse and winning a game than Chicago tonight. Hasek is ******* terrible, and unless he makes a big 180 he needs to be sent to Grand Rapids, I know our PP blew ass tonight and the GWG was a total fluke but Hasek needs to make a difference. His league low .869 save percentage is actually going to drop from tonights pathetic effort thus indicating no signs of improvement. I'm not giving up on him just yet but even the biggest Hasek nuthugger has to admit he was awful tonight.

Well I think it's getting close to call this some form of curse, that and Hasek is the worst goalie in the league, seriously he's been worse than Cloutier this season. Lowest save percentage in the league and it's only going to drop after tonight, just how much has he aged over the off season?

Geez what the heck is wrong with Madano? I know he's getting older and historically a lot of players have struggled to make it over such record breaking humps, but this is starting to get ridiculous.

Michigan state also won the NCAA hockey championship, furthermore the university of Michigan has more titles then any other college program. But then again as I've always said, you have have to be good at something. Can you name any meaningful accomplishment a sports team from Minnesota has done within the past 10 years? Neither can I, so let them pretend they're the state of hockey if it gives them something to boast about.
