I find it interesting that we're losing to the Canuck logo that's only even voted third favorite Canuck logo if you look at their latest poll. Furthermore this poll already has more votes then the one released a day before it, pretty significant when you realize the poll itself is only a couple days old. I still vote when I can. But sadly enough, unless we evict the Canuck voters from their parent's basements or find them girlfriends, they'll likely Rory their stupid logo into the finals.
-
How did you find this out, if it's true I'll gladly throw in a good 10-20 votes per day. Should only be easier for me to do while I write up papers for school and such on my computer. Personally I believe it's very possible, considering the fact that if we ruled out all biased forum based votes we'd probably be beating them 2-to-1, if we accomplish half of what they do with this thread we should pass them. Assuming their fanboys have any social life they're rampant voting fervor should only decline the further this thing goes. The fact of the matter is the red Wings have a bigger fan base and an obviously superior logo, this poll should reflect that in the end, as long as we can cancel out the Canuck nuthugger faithful.

We're currently losing to the Canuck's logo? This must be the work of fanaticism as opposed to logic as the Canucks have what in my opinion is easily the worse Canadian team logo. My assumption is that their resolve has been strengthened by the revealing of how s***ty their new jerseys are. I'm sure they've been on this case since the San Jose match up considering San Jose's logo is also a lot better than the stupid orca 'C' that actually looks worse than it did a year ago.

Yeah, so I heard anyways. I caught the main card but missed the preliminaries, however a rather large bloodstain was very evident through out each bout. Didn't find out till the next day however, made me wish Babalu would of (and probably should have) been part of the main event. Especially considering the speculation that he held his choke too long, really wanted to see that >_<

For prosperity's sake and to help conclude their inclusion of every sport this... http://youtube.com/watch?v=1zchj8kR8As ...definitely deserves a spot. The beat down so severe it was used as fodder by politicians to shut down the UFC.

Their old ones were definitely better, these aren't bad though. I adore the shoulder logos but the actual chest logo looks out of place with the new color scheme.

If you ask me the history of a logo speaks volumes of it's quality, a good logo will naturally last longer then a bad one, unless you're Buffalo of course. Anyways, I gave the Wings a vote today, though I do admit I am a fan of the Kings logo, just nothing tops the winged wheel. Probably my favorite logo in all of pro sports.

Wow, that might be the funniest thing I've seen today. Though technically it's only 13 minutes into Wednesday but still that's damn hysterical.
-
Hmmm definitely prefer the old ones but these will no doubt grow on me pretty quickly. Considering all the changes they could have done these are pretty good. My only quip is that the logo's shrunk down a bit horizontally and looks too flat.

I've been trying to dig up the exact article to no avail, but I remember Teemu decrying Bertuzzi's actions publicly. Stated that he should be removed from the game and that he didn't feel safe playing in a league, such as the NHL if no major actions had been taken to punish Bert. Though an irregularity Selanne was line mates with Moore a bit that year. Anyways, this whole Penner/Oilers thing might be the best news I've heard so far this off season outside of us signing Rafalski.

Lies! All lies!

If it means anything, Norton wasn't as bad a fighter as most people here peg him to be. He stood his own against the very large Raitas Ivanans, however his lack of skating abilities give him legendarily bad balance and he practically fell on his face. This is an all to common outcome to most of his fights really.

Brad Norton's best fight.

Remember Jamie Mclennen Calgarys stick swingin backup

Good riddance Sounds like he should blend in nicely with his new club too. -
Pretty good article and I'm glad some light is being shed on the issue. While I don't buy into all of the hypochondriacal speculation, I do believe ESPN could potential damage the leagues image in a way beyond simply avoiding it. Needless to say the last time I watched ESPN in the past year or two was the Nathan's Hotdog eating contest, that pretty much sums up my opinion of that network.

Ask and you shall receive.

This one's LOLtastic.

Bumping this one up as it seems to be the properly titled one But yeah, good article, I;ve been preaching such for a good long while now, glad to see some real press covering the issue.

Who the heck do you have that pushes him to 10th? I have him in 5th myself.
-
And of course this too If Markov goes elsewhere he could be a great pick up, and if you ask me Avery could just be that top 6 forward we badly need.
-
I support Avery coming back 100%, yeah he's a bit of a D-bag but he's also skilled and isn't nearly as bad as he was a couple years ago. Also didn't he peg Corey "the Fraggle" Perry a few times ina flurry as a King?

Anyone check out Ortiz vs. Evans 1.5? Otherwise known as the press conference. Seriously entertaining stuff, their rematch should be pretty wild.

This forum needs more MMA fans, this was a great card and I did in fact catch the whole thing. Biggest kudos go out to the title defenders Sherk, and Silva. Sean despite eating 3 or 4 direct knees to the face during successful take down attempts, rag-dolled Hermes. He looked like a heavy weight out there against the obviously weaker Franca. Meanwhile with Silva, I agreed with you and saw him falling in a later round. I thought Marquardt was just going to further exploit his ground weakness but he came through with an early GnP KO. I have to say I was a little disappointed in Rashad Evans, I expected great things from him, instead Tito pretty much beat him in every aspect of the fight marginably. He was lucky to get the draw. I'm hoping for a sequel however, Tito already said he's game for a rematch. Rashad meanwhile needs some more convincing wins on his record, now that he's seen the next level with Ortiz he should keep at it. I gave Herring no chance to beat Nogeira and was pleasently surpised to see how close that match became. Minotauro was practically saved by the bell in round one and proved he's inhumanly tough by coming back and winning the match. I knew very little of the Florian/Robinson match up going into the night, wasn't even aware Florian was fighting as a light weight now. Of course he handled Alvin as if he still was 170+ pretty handily. Overall, great fight card and one entertaining night. Only thing that would have made it sweeter would have been seeing Mayweather in place of Franca, but 2 first round KO's was plenty for the night.

Who will challenge the Wings for Central title?
Vincanni replied to Bert44Wingsfan's topic in General
Don't recall whether it's been brought up or not but it's very possible to win the cup in an easy division. Carolina and Tampa did it and their respective devisions at the time of of victory were even weaker then what I project the Central to be this year. I don't feel this should be a major concern.
