God awful decision, S. Neidermayer's overrated legacy carries on. Jiggy should have won it, then maybe Pahlsson.

On the plus side it looks as if Lidstrom can still be the first European captain to lead a team to the cup, next year is going to be awesome.

Ugh looks like the string of lame teams winning the cup might come to a frothing head.

I'm sorry I don't condone such behavior but you have to admit this adds a whole new layer of drama, this series is getting better and better each game.

It was a great series, 6 games but felt more like 7 to me. I think I know how San Jose felt, Anaheim was by no mean dominant in any area (aside from overtime maybe) but they found ways to win and took advantage of every oppurtunity they were given. Definitely a clash of two teams and while I know a lot of our fans felt we deserved to win that series, I knew from the beginning every game would be decided by who capitalized on what they were given and as little as one lucky bounce would decide a game. Good luck against Ottawa, they're a beast right now but this series has taught the ducks how to beat adversity so I'm expecting it to be a long battle to the finish line.

I'm a Wings fan through and through but I'm also a fan of Hockey and I'd be psychotic to miss the finals. Ottawa is going to be rocking with the entire nation of Canada behind them plus Alfredsson can be the first Swede to win the cup.

I kind of wish that game was at home, every wing deserves a 15 minute long standing ovation for this season. They exceeded my expectations and went out against a team that had things gone slightly different we'd could have ended things before even Ottawa. I'm sure Duck fans have to feel kind of lucky getting by us in 6 like that. We all know how that series would have ended had it gone to 7.

That could have been legendary. Thanks Datsyuk for showing us you are the truly amazing and for a moment you made the world stand still as you gave us all hope. That's more then enough to make me happy. He have nothing to be ashamed of, Red Wing fans we have one hell of a team. Here's to next year!

Forgive me for my indomitable pessimism, but I find it impossible to have zero doubt when we're coming off a pair of games we dominated on the ice and still lost. I honestly feel it's destiny for us to lose this series the way things are going with all these strange bounces and fluke goals. Though my one glimmer of hope is that the same thing happened to us in game one so maybe the real destiny is for this series to go 7 games.

I predict a Hemsky-like kick of the puck into Hasek's, pads then he'll be pushed in the net on what will be called as goal after review in the 4th OT.

Sadly I agree completely, Wings have far and away been miles ahead of the Ducks the past 3 games but we're 1-2 in those games and Giguere is almost entirely responsible. I feel it's uncharacteristic of the Ducks to be dominated as badly as they have been and tonight they're going to bring it and match us. Considering they're beating us while we're playing better I can only fear and assume they'll trounce us in an even game or one skewed to their advantage. I like our chances of winning game 7 if we get that far but I don't see it happening. Ducks have been this year's team of destiny and favorites to make the finals from day one of the season. We were definitely their best competition thus far we've missed the countless chances we've had and I don't feel it's in the cards for us to get many more, or at least enough to pull us out of this hole. I hope I'm terribly terribly wrong about tonight.

Wayne County Red Wings or Motor City Red Wings would be better equivalents. To be fair they're doing rather well attendance wise, though I know a certain team who was 20th in the league this year, not going to name any cities...

It seems some of Anaheim's best lacks the knowledge necessary to differentiate between a game and a series.

I was listening to Sporting news radio on 97.1 with Artie Spaniard and that guy was absolutely brutal on the ducks despite being stationed in California. He said there fan base was a joke and he bet if you asked the average person in Anaheim about hockey they wouldn't even know they had a team let alone that they're currently in the playoffs.

I am so getting on this boat. Just another reason why this is the greatest sports forum on the web.

Now this is more what I'm used to, Wings playing great and losing to a lucky team who manages to win only because they capitalize on the one break they get while we fail at the 10 or so we get. I have more then enough confidence that we can win this series in 7, but honestly what more can we do? Last two games we dominated and had things gone 1% more accurate on our plays they could be exactly like game 3. Yet Ducks get lucky and win. It's just so frustrating, I could stand losing to a team like San Jose who ran neck and neck with us and outplayed us often, but the Ducks? Aside from game one which we actually stole from them, they've yet to show me anything worthy of being were they are right now. Giggy is one of the least athletic players in the league and is practically a barely mobile suit of large pads. Granted he's not letting up rebounds and seems to stop every shot even when he can't even see the puck, due to positioning. He has been the difference maker against us for the most part. Pronger's been awful, firing shots on the PP that even make Sammy shudder. Aside from some decent physical play he's almost hurt the Ducks as much as he's helped. The Ducks looked better without him in game 4 than they did with him in games 3 and 5. Scott Niedermayer? Aside from watching Datsyuk undress him more times than none I barely ever notice him. He's been decent offensively but aside from a pretty nice pass and a defensive melt down on our part early in the series, thjere's nothing he's done that a 3rd paring D-man couldn;t accomplish with some luck. He's been remarkably mediocre overall. Teemu? For a one way offensive player he's been invisible aside from a couple flashy moves instigated by our own inept play rather than him stealing the puck ala Datsyuk. So could someone please remind me why we're behind in this series?

Just great we dominate yet another game and the ducks get one lucky break to even everything up. The Ducks barely deserve to be in this series let alone this game. Now we go into the land of whistle swallowing were their players can goon it up, interfere and throw elbows to no ill effect.
