Why is Engblom criticizing our 2nd period play with footage from the first?

What a way to respond to an anemic 1st period wow, not too mention if not getting called for penalties everytime we had momentum we could easily be in the lead. Too bad that 5-3 had to get clipped by the intermission too, scoring on that will be huge. The third cannot start soon enough!

Only positive I can draw from this period is that we're only down by one. That and Dom still seems rather poised. But what's with just about everything else, even when he have the puck in their zone we seem allergic to shooting. Even when we put pcusk towards the net they're more or less passes to someone in front or we're passing it through traffic, just please for the love of god shoot the puck. I know Jiggy ruined us last time we showered with with shots in the playoffs but those at least create rebounds and ugly goals which we've proved we can score time and time again this playoffs. I'm just hoping we continue our trend of getting stronger as the game progresses, we'll need something to swing this back in our favor.

I wouldn't be applauding this, why yes it's good news for us and if anything this comes closer to equalizing things rather than give anyone an advantage as we're already missing 2 important D-men. But as fans of hockey let's all hope he gets better soon and that the Wings win irregardless.

I was incredibly nervous going into that game, I had watched the previous game at a bar only to see us lose so I decided to watch that one alone. But during one of the intermissions after we built a healthy lead I went over to a friends house were he, myself and another proceeded to laugh at Roy every time they zoomed the camera in on his face trying to stiffen his upper lip, looked like he was about to cry. Point of interest, heading over during the intermission there was a group of brightly colored Wing fans yelling on the side of the road in front of their house, hoisting signs, the most notable of which wrote "Roy Sucks." I love Michigan when the Wings go deep into the playoffs.

Anyone else see nearly every game in this series being a 2-1 game?

Ahhh lovely game recap there by the versus crew. Clement mentions how our special team play dominated the game and gave us the edge in the win. Then Engblom went on you fellate Pronger. Calling him the best point man on the powerplay in the league and took over half the recaps time to highlight some good decisions he made during last night's game that almost scored goals. I'm looking forward to seeing pretty much nothing but this during the WCF, I'm so excited! P.S. This Buf/Ott series is awesome.

I say if Kronwall is 100% or close to it put him in, no contest. Once he gets his timing back he can help fill Schneider's void a lot better than Quincey can and he can lay down punishing hits as well. But I also feel if it isn't broken, don't fix it. I'd rather see us turn to Kronnic if we really need the boost or change of style.

I was thinking the same thing, we're all rather spoiled getting to watch Lidstrom play his entire career with us. Niedermayer is one of the best players in the NHL and is a lot grittier than he is dirty. It's just when you use Lidstrom as a measuring stick you're not giving Scott a fair grade.

All original reports stated he'd be out 1-2 months and he was injured on the 30th of March. Experts were looking at a return to play by as early as conference finals play but it won't likely be till the end of the series if at all. I personally don't see him making it back unless we make the finals or Quincey starts sucking something awful.

All the more reason to sell tickets for such an event assuming money is the name of the game. Either way I'm sure they'd get thousands of viewers doing this. I haven't heard any news on it yet but I'm hoping they do it.

As a whole franchise I don't see Don having any malice towards Detroit, just he's never been a fan of the Euro's and the WIngs are more European than any other team in the playoffs still.

I'll be the tertiary here and say how badly we miss you Shark fans. Seriously you guys were class, not all Duck fans are awful but there is a VERY visible line between you two.
