Kind of disappointed, the Duck faithful have shown very little mettle in this thread. I mean even though a lot of them didn't have top notch skill the Shark fans represented our last thread rather well.

My favorite comment I read from the ducks site is how one of them mentions how they got into a fight with a wings fan before. Didn't mention how it went down but the fact enough that they're pointing it out and trying to sound cool from mentioning it says more than enough about this person maturity. But for the most part I don't see a lot out of the ordinary, most seems pretty typical of a team that played a great game and still lost. Though a few too many "WINGZ SUCK WE SHOUL HAVE WON DUCKS RUULE" posts, plenty more than I'd ever see here but that's to be expected. A few points of curiosity though; Apparently despite having a lengthy 2-man advantage and 3 more registered powerplays then us, they too seem to be whining about the reffing, which I find a bit silly. Also a lot of them seem hellbent on Homer's GWer being interference (btw I still saw that as Lidstrom's goal, definitely need a replay), of course I don't even think the possibility of interference was mentioned by anyone but the gibbering masses over there trying to find a proper skapegoat. Overall I can understand why they're dissipointed but I know I would be too. Still I find myself already missing the fans of San Jose and even Calgary.

By the way did Engblom salivate over Niedermayer's (the other one) glorious dive that bought Hank 2 minutes in the box? Or, what about Teemu flopping over Cleary's dropped stick that also bought a whistle. Are these other great examples of playoff hockey in Engblom's mullet brained head? Also Clement hardly bothers me, he's has a good voice for the job and he actually picked us to win the cup last year. Never viewed him as a particularly smart man but I don't think he's biased against us. I do however think he lacks an original train of thought and absorbs too much from the clowns around him. Further commenting on Clement, he suffers from Ferraro syndrome in accordance to his opinion on the Wings. Meaning he likes the Avalanche more than he likes us so it's very easy to think he has a huge bias against the Wings, but I assure you it's not entirely so.

Say what you want about our play but nothing would make me happier to see us beat them in 4 games, exactly like tonights. In fact by all means give them 10-20 even 30 more shots, I'm glad we're frustrating them. Pulling off what babs did to us in '03 would be poetic.

I have a simple request to make, I lack a good paint shop program and even if I were to have I'd have no idea how to properly use it so, I have a request. Someone needs to make a Just For Men add featuring Scott Niedermayer, seriously that guy has more gray in his beard than my dad.

I normally hate the whole idealogical stand point that the whole world is against the wings but Engblom is incredulously biased in the Ducks favor. I don't care what team you may want to win but if you're doing national coverage you should at least feign parity. The Ducks practically could do no wrong in his eyes and it was aggravating to listen to, I feel a letter of complaint should be filed if this garbage continues. That made my night better.

Well that was a great game, we ended up with one more point on the board but by no means does that mean we were the better team. As far as I'm concerned that game could have gone to a coin-flip. This should be a great series. Also was it just me or when Perry was doing his whole "You're gonna get it" act it sounded like he was choking back emotions and it was interfering with his tone a bit. Nearly sounded like he was about to cry, I have a niece who does this, she's 8.

On the Perry incident, there's no way he couldn't have avoided that. I know he was busy whining, but any NHL calibre player would have seen Chelios backing up like that. Definitely a cheap shot disguised as incidental contact.

Either they're gonna be a bit rust and we come out hot, or they put us back on our heels early on in which case we'll need to hold on till natural game fatigue evens things out some. One major positive in either case is it can't be any worse then what San Jose did to us right off the bat in game 1, and we all know how that ended.

I heard an old quote that went something like "The internet is a lot like a bathroom wall, anyone can write on it and it's mostly all bulls***." This exemplifies just that, I cannot even tell you how often some people will just make crap up for the sake of sounding smart.

I really enjoy support from other team fans, for some reason it feels nice knowing that the neutral competition prefers us over the other guys. Almost makes me feel like we could get some new recruits into the Wings fandom or at least find a few new posters who have us as their second favorite team. So thanks for the post and FYI my Fiancee is from BC and a Canuck fan.

In moments were it's extremely difficult to pinpoint one star I say as a default, go with the goalie as long as his numbers are above average. As for Hasek's numbers, they're great so he's my choice, Lidstrom being my runner up.
