Hull is one of those types who I think is an ******* but enjoy his commentary as I find it interesting, i.e. Don Cherry syndrome. As for the Franzen's hit, he didn't head hunt or lead with his elbow or charge and it wasn't until the replay that I realized Cheechoo didn't even have the puck on that. It was just a mistake by Franzen and it gave San Jose a power play in the third that could have been extremely costly. Justice was served end of story, Hully just needs to think before he says stuff, of course if he did that he probably wouldn't have the job he does today and would offer nothing unique to anything. Lord knows he doesn't have a great commentator voice or a broad vocabulary or chemistry with anyone. The one asset he does have is that he says what he thinks irregardless of how others might take it.

God we suck, Sharks will sweep us for sure
-
Well I predicted us losing to the Sharks in 5, so my thoughts aren't really fair weathered. This game isn't over yet but I'm hardly swayed in my original opinion.

*Sigh* this is kinda what I feared, if they're power play functions we're pretty much lucky to win one game this series.

Pre-GAME 1 (4/26): Sharks @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM ET

Wait, what Calder and Sammy have broken hands now too? When was this discovered? I'm REALLY hoping we win the first one, we'll need it I honestly think the only shot we have at winning this series is to hit the ground running and take the first couple games by surprise, than steal one in San Jose and get lucky sometime later. Anyways I predict a somewhat lopsided game for some reason one way or the other, alot will depend on special teams too. -
Actually that was just me giving a substitute answer to what I really think will happen in this series for Detroit. Didn't wanna break the nice positive vibe we all had going on, that and I'm a little bit of a sarcastic ass

Convince me why I shouldn't be dreading this series....

We're not being pushed around at all like we were in the regular season and San Jose hasn't seen us like this before. Furthermore unlike virtually every other team in the past that's given us fits they don't have a Vezina calibur goaltender (Or Rolosen.) Furthermore we have both home ice and might get to cherish the role of underdog for once. Sounds like a decent enough deal for me... Of course I also picked San Jose to win the cup both at the beginning of the year and coming into the playoffs... Disregard that. -
We shall paste the ice with your blood San Jose! Practice begging for mercy for we... Okay okay completely joking Not the match up I wanted (damn you Dallas) but this should make for an entertaining high energy series. Good luck to both teams and I welcome all San Jose fans, we should get along well seeing as both our teams share one thing in common. Beating Nashville senseless. Best wishes to both teams, may we see a hard fought, emotional, injury free and above all else clean series.

Lidstrom for making Iggy almost invisible out their offensively for 95% of the series. Also for netting over a point per game and being a damn good captain. Cleary and Franzen were great and if I were to judge things based on previous play Clearyt's take the honor but through and through no one made the impact Lidstrom did for us.
-
It was quoted as merely precautionary by FSND as well. I'm not too worried, Homer wanted back out on the ice, I doubt that'd be his train of thought if his eye was directly damaged.

Good entertaining series, some undisciplined play got me pretty irate, but in the end it all just made the series far greater. But with that being said you were a great mediator for your team's fandom, an excellent poster and I wish you good luck down the road. Who knows maybe we'll see you again next year?

Great period for us and Man! Kipper is the biggest diver in the playoffs by a long shot this year. I agree with trying to keep players from interfering with the goaltender but please guys feel free to call unsportsmanlike conduct penalties as well, like they did with Dom that one time when he embellished. Anyways great period, as long as we don't get hosed or unlucky we'll win if we keep this play up. Of course I know things will change.

Per TSN: McLennan suspended 5 games, Lebda out for Game 6

Wow real ballsy making some loser goaltender the scape goat on this one, especially not doing a damn thing against Langkow, Iginla I can understand though he's still a complete D-bag. Either one of those stains could blow a tire, careen face first into the boards and leave on a stretcher and I could not be more indifferent. Edit: just so none of you folks get the wrong idea I'm not asking or hoping for this to happen. Just as a fan of hockey in general, I'd hold my breath if any player became seriously injured with a few exceptions in which case I'd not really care too much. These assholes just made that list. -
Now that I'm seeing this again over and over on review, sall I can say is... Wow! Langkow is a joke. After he's taken out the grumpy little baby throws a blatant cheap shot, worse than Tootoo's. Then rolls over like the ***** he is and pretends to be injured, to justify his goonery and sell the call. That Puke deserves at least 3 games. Any Flames fan defending him for this crap is a complete retard who'd defend Hitler if we played for Calgary.

Hasek gets interfered with and embellishes, he's either called for diving or nothing happens and as it's happened in the past Babcock calls him out for it. Kipper gets interfered with and embellishes, he gets the call almost every time even when there's no contact or another teammate clearly pushes the perpetrator into him. Then Playfair calls in his back-up to tomahawk one of our players. Compare and contrast, compare and contrast.
-
You're entirely right, I hadn't for a second considered otherwise. Anyone who actually thought Hasek tried swinging his stick at Iginla in an attempt to injure him, is a inept delusional homer who should be discredited from anything they say concerning anything. Granted this comment was said by the same racist/sexist who called our team a bunch of euro woman. He's about as suited for intelligent debate as I am to be the King of Spain. End of discussion.

Just returned from a trip to Pontiac's Best Buy for a new keyboard. It KILLED me to have my keyboard break leaving me unable to comment at all on today's game. I'm sure there's nothing left to say that already hasn't but let me just say this simple paragraph. Going into this series I really liked the Flames, I'm a huge fan of Canadian teams and they were easily my favorite one in the Western conference. Kinda feared that something might happen during this series to change that, but figured 04 wasn't too bad and I rooted for them to win the cup that year too. They were a gritty band of warriors who I respected and felt were the role model for what a hard-nosed team should be. The biggest tragedy for me is that this series has done exactly as I feared and went beyond all expectations. Sadly I have lost all respect for Calgary and their Flames and I don't expect these wounds to heal anytime soon.
-
I'd call it a gutless move and expect him to be gone from the playoffs and the coach fined.

Grapes is that you? I didn't know you knew how to read?

Respect for Calgary = 0
