I feel it was icing and technically play should have been halted. I also think a lot of icing calls are missed, and the Pens played Stuart's TO perfectly.

Thanks to his defensive efforts Malkin who single handedly held down the fort for the Pens in the first 4 games was reduced to being a non-factor, much like last year. I think its a fair excuse, though an excuse none the less. If the Wings truly deserved the cup they'd have won tonight's game or game 6, but instead Pittsburgh role players and depth stepped up which is what great teams do. No need to downplay such talk though, this board is a catharsis to a lot of grieving fans at the moment which I find understandable. Wings had a come back you could write a movie based on in their grasp.

I heard a lot of boos, but you know they where directed at Bettman for obvious reasons and Crosby who I think people don't honestly hate, just annoyed with for his over exposure. The latter part might be harder to understand for a Pittsburgh fan so just put it this way. Take every Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, and Shaq appearance in a commercial and replace it with Sidney Crosby since he's the only truly commercialized NHL superstar, yeah it feels kind of like that. Its overbearing, I can't even get a cup of coffee at Tim Horton's without seeing his mug.

Since some of you guys seem to need your spirits lifted a little and I'm either a pro at dealing with stress or emotionally dead inside (leaning towards the latter ) I present you with this question... Anyone think the league will throw us a bone and doctor up a nice Center Ice commercial making it look like the Wings won the finals?

Its kind of my thing, but I don't watch any Cup ceremony live unless its a Wing hoisting it. Its a sacred moment for me that I refuse to share with another team.

Honestly had the Wings not won the cup last year I'd be devastated. Maybe if we lost in a sweep or were dominated it'd be different as well, but I'm proud of my team. However, we literally came about as close as you can get to winning it this year so I like what that shows me with this team and I dare any of you to tell me any good reason the Wings can't be back next year.

Subtract the goals Malkin scored or was directly responsible for from TO's and making plays and the Pens lose in quite possibly a sweep depending on game 4's outcome while being shut out the first three games. I'd say he was a tincy bit worthy to win the Conn Smythe,

Zetterberg also scored at the end of the 2nd on an unassisted goal apparently as the box score read at one point.

I'm shockingly calm despite the lose. Maybe its because we won it last year and I'm not yet starved again to see my team win a title. Maybe its because the Wings put forth a valiant effort that I was honestly inspired by despite coming up short. Maybe its the bittersweet satisfaction in knowing the Pens scored an illegal goal to open the game up and will likely be labeled by most non-Pittsburgh fans who hate Crosby's over-exposed ass as a league victory. Maybe its the fact that I know the Wings have all their best players tied down and will be back next year, hopefully healthier and hungrier. Or maybe its just the fact that is hasn't hit me yet.

Malkin was the best player through out the playoffs, I don't see any problem with this. Of course he was a non-factor once we got Dastyuk back which makes me wonder what could have been if both teams played healthy, but that's playoffs for you same goes for the officiating.

Oh dear god, enough with the scapegoating. I'd prefer you bag on the refs or the linesmen.

Well said, my exact sentiments. Wings literally came to making this season as perfect as possible without winning a cup in my opinion.

I'd be out there booing honestly, but only booing Bettman and the NBAesque s*** bag he's raped the league into being. Pens deserve an applause and so do the Wings.

For the record, WingDingDong is a piece of human garbage and the worst kind of human being. The douchebagery and classlessness he displays is a disservice even to other D-bag Pen fans.

Thanks for everything guys, its been a great season despite a bitter ending, but I love my team and I'm proud of my Wings for giving us one hell of a season even if they fell painfully short. Great job Pens you where more than a worthy foe, but the TV goes off for me, too emotional of a guy to watch what happens next. Really can't explain how much I love this team and how spectacular their effort was at the end. Despite the loss I couldn't imagine a more dignifying end then that.

This game's going to end 2-1 or 3-1 with an empty netter with the Pens winning or the Wings are winning in OT, there is no way a Pens team with a shortened bench beats the Wings on home ice in OT.

If somehow that was called a no goal, I guarantee my TV and very likely my right hand would be broken right now.
