Well shoving aside the fact that his offensive production has been lacking, don't you think stating so is a slight disservice to the Pens. Its basically saying their wins are tainted and due to playing an incomplete team. Granted going into the series such things where said, but all that noise has quieted entirely.

I actually highlighted this somewhere in the GDT. While Pittsburgh where deadly accurate with the chances we gave them off of terrible puck possession, Wings still gave them all the rushes they ended up scoring on. So the root of the problems lies within our team and therefore is something the Wings can make a significantly better adjustment for next game and not have to worry about the Crosby's.

Positive: At least after a loss we don't see a spammed flood of thread entitled "FU REFFZZZ!!!" despite being the league's little darlings. ...And yes, its always a good thing when we see some action from Nightmare on Helm Street!

I still love the Wings chances and I see this being a 7 game homer series. Dats should be fresh, is nigh guaranteed for game 5, and is everything we need right now. There really is no such thing as momentum from game to game. Its ludicrous to suggest any adrenaline left at the end of game 4 will still be there after nights of rest and if anything the winning team falls risk of complacency while the losing team is fueled by desperation.

Really highlights how truly important he is to this team. Even with his scarce point total, his defensive play and puck handling are sourly missed. I'm entirely confident he'll play for game 5, but it would have been nice to have a buffer for him to knock some rust off during which isn't going to happen. Also no complaining about their 1st goal please being drawn on a dive, everyone's been forced to do that this series, the goal was off sides from the look of it and they won by more then one goal so really its a moot point.

The most positive thing I can draw form this game is almost all that needs to be changed is on our own end, almost all in the passing department, Wings sharpen that up and the Pens score maybe one goal tonight. TOs single handedly destroyed the Red Wings tonight as we gave them odd man rushes in barrages during the second and their timing was obviously there, not too mention the puck look magnetized to their sticks tonight.

Well I originally thought Wings would win in 7 so I guess I'm still sticking to that. However that was assuming Datsyuk only missed a couple games as I originally expected, not what is starting to look like the entire series.

Great betting odds for the Wings, especially if Datsyuk suits up. Even right now the very possibility of Dats playing makes the Penguins a ludicrous favorite, should be even at worst.

I voted that I'm sick of conspiracy theories, granted I don't see an argument for Pittsburgh. There is simply no motive for the officiating to favor the Wings in games 1 and 2 and the only remotely problematic instance was with Z blocking some goals, both of which where subjective calls given logical reasons behind being called the way they where. Also, In either case a good ref shouldn't make a call in the SCF with such a large consequence unless there is 100% objective data suggesting otherwise. Now in game 3 the officials have a clear motive to support the Pens to draw out the series, which PTI highlighted and as far as I'm concerned place full faith in. I wouldn't call it a conspiracy however, its simply a known fact.

Just curious, but somewhere, anywhere is there actually a record of longest time a team has had 6 skaters on the ice before a call was made/not made. I get the feeling we all witnessed a record tonight. Feel blessed as tonight was a milestone for referee futility.

This thread is ridiculous, watch a game from both sides and subjective reasoning will make you see more penalties for the team you're rooting for every time. You make it sound like the Penguins had penalties rescinded to favor them or where allowed to play with six skaters.

Never once envisioned a sweep so I guess this is expected. I was also honestly expected the refs to be worse in the Crosby's favor. Tonight wasn't so bad really, some pitiful non-calls but its not like they just made crap up to call on the Wings as everything they did was technically a penalty. Ozzie has his second weakest game of the playoffs, our PK failed to show up yet again, and Wings just fell flat in the 3rd after a spectacular 2nd. Just sucks after watching our team get so close to 3-0, we lose it in aggravating fashion.

While I do agree with this sentiment, there is no excuse for not calling the too-many-men-on-ice, that's full blown referee bias with empirical data to prove it. Same rule applies with Malkin who should have been suspended.

What a ******* joke. I predicted the refs raping us in this one so I can't be too angry. If the refs can artificially buy last years series into from a 5 gamer to a 6 game series, no reason they can't keep this one from being a sweep.
