Didn't anyone notice that May is wearing 24 now instead of 20? Kind of rules out the whole retiring the number thing. Lidstrom's number will probably be retired, but that's it. I'd like to see them hang 6 and 16 somewhere in the arena just as an acknowledgment those numbers won't be used again. What will interest me is who will wear 25. McCarty was a fan favorite like no one in recent memory. It will be weird to see someone else wear it.

I disagree. The Wings of the first period didn't deserve it, but the team that took the ice in the second definitely deserved it. And I can't say enough about Ozzie tonight.

Didn't you hear Mickey in the first saying that Kopey had 2 shots on goal that were valid scoring chances, more than he had in a week with the Wings?

See, I have never liked him. *yech* But I do agree he hasn't said or done anything wrong in this case. Hitch has always been our ***** pretty much - it's great to get that kind of fire going in the Central. It's been too boring far too long. Can't wait to see what happens this year! -

Chalk up another vote for Boston here; I agree the Sydney hype will probably reach epic proportions. It's a good opportunity for both teams, though - Pens have a chance at retribution and Wings have a chance to show that one star player does not a Stanley Cup make. Could we have this series with no announcers this time?

As I have been horribly remiss in my duties this season as the Welcoming Committee and party planner, I've decided to host an outdoor playoff party this year. I'll have TVs on in the yard and also, of course, in the kitchen and livingroom. Menu pending, jello shots mandatory. Probably for late first round, early second round. We'll see how the schedule shakes out and I'll announce a date.

I'm pretty sure it was SHUTOUT. Matt pretty much nailed it. Add crappy ice and Anaheim fighting for their playoff lives and what we see is what we get.

Smack your forehead; you could have had a V8. The NHL needs the revenue sharing, not the new O6 league. The NHL would never let this happen. -

Who would pay the revenue sharing then? Toronto alone pays about 14 million, the highest in the league. Good luck with that. -
