You youngsters!! I can see how you be swayed by the dynamic Mr. Yzerman, and he's one of the greatest, absolutely, but Gordie isn't Mr. Hockey for nothing. He was my very first idol growing up, and the day I met him - I could have died happy on the spot. Gordie was the best all-around player the Wings will probably ever have.

Very cool, timothy. I realize Dearborn's out there a little, but bRtd has never been to Cheli's Chili. He requested either there or Hockeytown Cafe, and I made the executive decision to do Cheli's, especially since that's where we were originally planning to go. Sorry about the long drive, but it's tough to accomodate everybody. Things may still change in your favor though if more people chime in with what's convenient for them. Thanks for being a trooper! Besides, first home game for the Lions is huge. We'd never get into the one downtown. And I don't think any of us will object if the game is on.

I picked the date purposely after the 6th. Although a Tiger game is the only thing on your list, you never know what else might come up, so I wanted to leave family time alone. I thought Dearborn would be easier because downtown might be swamped with pre or post game crowds and I'm too lazy to look up the Tigers and Lions schedules. (Yes, I know, Lions would be preseason)

VIB beat me to the punch! I think we should have a little get-together in the Detroit Metro area to celebrate the man that is Steve Yzerman and what he's brought to this city. I was thinking either Fenton for Dave and Joey's place or Dearborn for Chelli's Chili. Maybe even Hockeytown Cafe. Let's get a roll call here and pick a date that would work well for those in the area.

I'm all for trading Dats, but he goes alone. Our picks stay here unless we're getting a lot more out of the deal than that.

Okay, folks, we're going to have to reschedule this one. Summer just isn't a good time, I guess. I'll look at doing it around September/beginning of October.

V is all over the plan. Actually, V IS the plan. No one chimed with with dates or times other than Muse, so I pulled a date and time out of my - er, hat. So far our confirmed number is well under 15, so reservations are out no matter what time we arrive. If the time is unsuitable for the majority, by all means, let's change it. And there's nothing that says someone can't join us for a cocktail a little later in the evening. We'll be there at least an hour and a half if not longer. Thanks for the heads-up, MSU. I'm sure one of us will have your back and drink a toast to Steve in your honor. We'll be having more of these get-togethers as the season gets into gear, so I'm sure you'll be able to make it to one soon.
