I'm not as concerned about what we would lose if Babcock signed elsewhere, I'm more concerned about what other teams would gain, depending on the team.

How about someone start a thread about attendance rather than peppering every topic with that discussion? And yes, the upper bowl was packed. With Leafs fans, but packed.

Holy crap, there were a lot of Leafs fans there last night. I usually like it when Leafs fans show up - they get the Joe rockin', but there were some trolls in my section. I was a little overly joyful they had to make the trek home disappointed. Leafs' defense played extremely well last night. I'm not surprised we struggled to score. I wasn't thrilled when they pulled the trap out of the old bag of tricks a few times, but their backchecking was nothing short of stifling. Wings played very unevenly - moments of brilliance along with moments of WTH, but a surprisingly good 0-0 game through 3. I wouldn't mind seeing Phaneuf choke on a Timbit sometime soon though.

While Bruins fans have been lamenting their defense getting older and not being quite as good, I've been saying their biggest problem is their inability to keep their heads on straight. You can knock the B's off their game fairly easily. Even though I've always had a soft spot for the Bruins, I like it. It's fun to see Chara go bats*** crazy because he can't keep up.

Poor Jimmah. He gets us to OT and now it's up to him to win it for us. I've never watched a shootout and I'm not going to start now.

Beyond miffed this is on Versus instead of FSD. It's bad enough I can't watch hockey on CBC anymore. I'm hoping they've improved their broadcast considerably since last I watched. Wait, they still have McGuire (or however you spell it), so that hope is dashed. GO WINGS!!

I don't remember specifically the incident you're talking about, but I do have a PM conversation between myself and haroldsnepts about it. Whatever it was that you were suspended for, I can tell you that harold was in agreement it was the right thing to do. If Matt would like, I will be happy to share the conversation with him. I save all such conversations, and you are not the first to have it refute your baseless allegations.

I hadn't thought about it this way. I was thinking more along the lines of it being like Bill Clinton in charge of interns, but I see your point. My biggest problem with this is how can he be on LTIR and get a new job at the same time? It's way past shady and I can't believe the other 29 GMs aren't up in arms about this.

So you think it's better to just delete the whole thread rather than clean out a flame war and leave the good part for everyone else to discuss. It's much easier for mods, but if we delete every thread instead of taking the time to clean them up, quite a few threads, including game day threads, are going to disappear. And also we should never, ever, ever edit a post? So if someone has a post of substantial length that for the most part is a great point but they have included something against forum guidelines (circumventing the curse filter), then the whole post should just go *poof* rather than simply editing out the small portion that technically could get them suspended. It does happen, especially during very busy times around here, that I'll delete a post that would actually be better served by some minor editing but I just don't have the time or, admittedly, the patience at that point. If you guys think you're sick of hearing the same old stuff from mods time and time again, trust me, we are much more sick of having to say it.
