Let's not post signings in here, please. There's a thread for that already. Thanks.

Jason Spezza traded to Stars for 3 prospects, 2nd-rd pick

I agree and I have nothing but love for Jim Nill, but he also had a lot more money to work with and nowhere to go but up really. I'm withholding judgment for the next couple of seasons. -
This thread is about two players and two players only, neither of which happens to be a goalie. Let's keep the thread on topic, please.

You may agree with some opinions, find some lacking or even ludicrous. If that's the case, there's no need to comment. Just move on. As long as someone is discussing hockey, it's not irrelevant. You might want to look up the meaning of the word.

It's not even in Dreger's Twitter feed. It's in someone named Connor McKenna's feed that he says Dreger mentions this. Definitely rumor mill.

Quick really wants that shutout! -
From his wiki page: On April 21, 2007, in a playoff game against the Detroit Red Wings, McLennan came in the game to relieve Kiprusoff, who had given up five goals. He was in the game for a total of 18 seconds before he slashed Red Wings forward Johan Franzén twice in the leg. He was due to be assessed a minor penalty, but shortly after play was stopped, he violently slashed Franzén in the stomach and was ejected from the game.[2] McLennan was suspended five games for the incident and the Flames lost Game 6 the next day. Coach Jim Playfair and the Flames organization were also heavily fined, in part because the NHL made actions late in games that were out of hand a particular point of emphasis. The incident was thought to be out of character for McLennan by stunned broadcasters Pierre McGuire and Ed Olczyk. In his book, McLennan said that his initial slashes against Franzén were an effort to spark his team. He also admitted that he hit Franzén in the stomach because he thought he was skating towards him to throw a retaliatory punch. He wrote that he instantly regretted the decision and sent an apology to the Detroit dressing room after the game. No way in the world he thought Franzen was coming after him. First, he was obviously skating to the side, not towards the net. Second, the worst Johan would have done would be to ****** his mouthguard*. That hardly rates swinging for the fences. *Yes, I know that's not actually the case. It's a joke!

He has a job for the next couple of weeks anyway: Rob Rossi @RobRossi_Trib 4m Dan Bylsma is joining NHL Network as Stanley Cup Final analyst

Hey, I'm just thrilled they have the lower bowl paying attention to the game instead of their phones.

Stellar backchecking on the part of the Rags. They may not score on the PK this time, but they're doing a great job keeping the Kings from scoring as well. -

Seriously, Kings fans? Chanting "Lundquist" after your second goal? Did you forget Quick was scored on twice first? -

You are correct, sir. Dear hockey gods: When I said I enjoyed watching a SCF game that I didn't have a vested interest in, that was not a suggestion that this happen on a regular basis. The Wings can make the finals (and win) every single year and I will be ever so much more happy. Please accept my offering of a He Who Shall Not Be Named (but you know who) sacrifice to appease you. -

I'm really liking not having a vested interest in the game. It's nice being able to just appreciate the game and not ***** about the refs. -

Went off a King and into the net after Quick made the original save. Kings are playing Keystone Cops tonight. -

I too am watching the CBC feed. Hmmm, CBC or NBC? Let me think about that for a second... Done. I get chills every single freakin' time I see the Cup, especially when they're taking it out of the case. Every single time. -
I think we shouldn't vote at all if it comes down to two Wings.

I don't know if I want Lundquist to hoist the Cup or give it to LA just for taking out the Hawks. Honestly, I'm good either way. -
WCF: (6) California Dreamin' v (5) The Night Chicago Died
vladdy16 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
It's all Rivalred's fault. "Watch the game" he told me. "It'll be fine." he said. Haven't watched a single game as I am the kiss of death this year. First game I turned on, and not 4 minutes in Hawks score 2 goals. I turned it off immediately, but the damage was done. I'm currently lobbying Matt for a special Chicago-related suspension for him.
