Saying the US wants to avoid Canada in these rounds is akin to saying the Wings wanted to avoid the Avalanche anytime before say 2005. Hockey is "Canada's Game", so it stands to reason anyone would want to meet up with Canada at any point. I'd rather it be for the gold, but matchups aren't working out that way.

Denigrating a country or it's citizens is completely unacceptable. Anyone participating in such a discussion will be persona non grata for an appropriate length of time. The Olympics were created to encourage good will and inspire friendly competition. Please let's enjoy these games in that intended spirit. I'm all for not participating in the Olympics, but part of me thinks this is going to be used as a bargaining chip on the part of the NHL. They could probably get some pretty big concessions from the NHLPA.
