There's not enough alcohol in my house to cover this game. Not a bad game, it's just that they're toying with me, damn it. -

Jimmy chant now. Not quite as cool as "Ozzie", but "Jim-me How-ard" is pretty okay too. -

Holy crap - Nyquist first rookie in Wings history to score 2 points in a playoff game. -

I'm all for taunting HWSNBN, but let's not get carried away in the GDT, please. This is purely a pre-emptive strike, I'm not insinuating anything. -

LOL - I closed my doors, but my yelling when Dats scored still startled a lady walking past my house. -

Say what you will, but Hank is still the man when it comes to retaining control of the puck. -
Let's not turn this into a HWSNBN vs. Ovie thread.

I think it's more indicative of his all-around effort rather than one play out of a game. I don't care if the guy is 5 strides ahead of me, I'm busting my ass hoping against hope I can get my stick in there somehow. It's all about attitude.

Yeah, that was a tough one - a beer or two and counting is futile. Vladifan is on vacation and has asked me to track her total, which is much easier - she's up to 45 bucks already.

Am I the only one a little concerned after last night's game? The way I see it, this was a statement game for the Wings. They got shellacked at their playoff home opener and went down a game in the series; they should have come out with both barrels blazing and taken control of that game from the getgo, yet Anaheim takes them to OT. IMO the Ducks are the ones that got momentum out of that game - the Wings came away merely with a sense of relief. -
I have the board administrator's verification, stated my pledge and gave you the option to make out a check to Children's Hospital. I think I've covered everything. We're all waiting on your pledge now. To 55fan, troubadour and Peadydog, thanks so much for really going out of your way to help make this successful. I'll vouch for you.

*sniff* Sorry. Didn't mean to ruin it for anyone, but it wasn't anything like I expected and just wanted people to be aware that it's not his life story. I didn't want anyone else to be disappointed.

I saw it on CBC last week. Just a heads up, this is about the time after he retired from the Wings and how he got back into hockey afterwards. It doesn't cover anything else. Still a good story and I must admit I teared up at the end.

This is NOT obligatory - it's sensationalism at its finest. You are the reason tabloids exist, and Honey Boo Boo and reality TV. Thanks a lot.

I don't think Howard was trying to sell it - I think that anyone getting hit in the head is going to instinctively jerk away from the contact. Howie is getting the benefit of any doubt from me in this instance.

Will people please cease posting "lock this thread" in the thread? If you don't care to discuss the topic, don't enter the thread. I personally think that we could have the reincarnation of Terry Sawchuk and people would still ***** around here. It's what they do. I don't agree with it, so I don't post in the thread. As a mod I am, unfortunately, required to enter the thread. Goalie wars are inevitable. This thread would be more on track if people who didn't want to participate in the discussion would cease commenting on other's discussing it. I suspect this thread has yet to be closed because our goaltending actually is discussion-worthy and Matt runs a pretty loose ship. If Matt tires of this war, the thread will be locked. Until then, please keep the discussion courteous and on topic. Thanks!

Good pressure by the Wings - if Hiller would just give up a rebound or two, we might get something going here. -

I'd normally agree, but he's made some pretty spectacular saves. Rotten bastard.
