Why don't we have a "JIM-MY JIM-MY!" chant yet?!

That was classic and my avatar for quite a while. Huge brownie points from me. -
Even though I live only 45 minutes from the Big House, I checked on hotels in the area - they are booking up already. If anyone wants to stay in the Ann Arbor area, I highly recommend you reserve a room now. Here's a link for the hotels closest to Michigan Stadium.

Pavel, Bert and Howie three stars.

For once I am glad that the Wings went into cruise control - this could have been so very ugly. Congrats on the home win record, Wings!! 15 straight.

Well, part of the Homer Rule dictates the only way to get a penalty is to pull out a .357 Magnum and shoot him. Besides, if you were the ref, would you really want to give Detroit another PP? I know the game should be called according to the rule book all the time, but sometimes you just have to look the other way.

Wings are making the Buffalo D just look silly. Poor Miller, he's been shellshocked and I can't really pin any of those goals on him.
-
Murph better slow down on the hot dogs or he'll never get out from between the benches! They've really decreased his work space. I hope there's a door to the bench from there.

Don't toy with me, Yahoo Sports. If I got Wings/Leafs at the Big House, I could die happy. After the game, of course! The potential revenue for this is astronomical. For that reason alone, I'll be surprised if the league doesn't jump at the chance. Start saving your pennies, folks!

You took my 3 for-sures; Howe, Orr and Sawchuck. Pavel would be my center, I haven't decided on wingers yet. But you should know that if you take Gretzky, you must also take McSorley. They're a package deal.

Stream worked, of a fashion. Constant buffering for me, but that was very cool. Thanks!

Then parity should apply to the travel as well, shouldn't it?

Holy Schnikies! What a beautiful shift by Kronwall - takes the puck in the zone 1 on 3 style, passes it to the boards behind the net, who so very helpfully passes it back, comes around the net and buries the puck. Beautiful!

I'm staying on CBC - didn't have time to change over after intermission and Wings scored, so I'm sticking with it. They're giving mad props to Pavel. I have to say, if you are going to watch another team's broadcast, CBC is the way to go. They're obviously pulling for the Leafs, but they're not total homers about it. Too bad I couldn't hear what they had to say about the penalty shot.
-
Please add to your topic what was said. Few have access to CBC.
-
All Leafs all the time. What's becoming the norm: Penalty shot on a phantom call leads to first goal. Realized I wasn't wearing Wings gear for the first. Changed immediately to same shirt I was wearing when they won last game.
-
Down by 3 halfway through the first. Babcock needs to call a time out and get these guys settled down. *Edit - thanks, Mike
-
Hasn't been in the past. I would imagine that since the CBC is a Canadian channel, the US wouldn't really have any say in what they televise, but I could be wrong.
-
Jimmah is right - the Joe is absolutely rockin' when the Leafs come to town. One of if not the favorite game of the season for me. I also like having access to CBC; I'll watch the game on FSD and tune to CBC for intermissions.

You know, I try very, very hard to give Philly fans the benefit of the doubt; we as Detroit fans know what it's like to get painted with a very wide brush, and the law of averages alone dictates that not every PA fan is an ass, but it's getting more difficult by the minute. Just once I'd like to go to a Wings v Flyers game and not have a fight break out in the stands. Just once I'd like to hear of them facing adversity and handling it with grace. So if anyone could keep their eyes peeled for some such happy occurrence, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Exactly - the site is rated by people who have at least heard of it. It's a FF add on I believe. It's installed on my work computer. You get false alerts sometimes, but if the site is actually rated by users, it bears listening. I never said the user was screwed, I just said there was cause for concern. I'd be on yellow alert.
-
That site's WOT rating is 1, which is the lowest you can get. It's been rated by at least 6 people. I'm thinking there is cause for concern here.

If my working conditions were consistently hindered and the press saw fit to interview me, I'd take it public as well. Most people are discreet, but you can only take so much. No one expects anyone to work in undesirable conditions on a consistent basis. Now if they want to warn you beforehand that painful officiating is part of the game, that's another thing. Last I heard, though, nowhere in any player's contract does it say "We'll pay you X amount for X amount of time, but the officiating is going to be highly inconsistent. Consider it an occupational hazard."

Oooooo, no playoff assignments! There aren't enough playoff games to go around, so that probably doesn't sting a whole lot anyway. If I screw up at my job, I don't not get invited to the Christmas party, I get called out on the carpet. Or if it's really egregious, I get fired. When was the last time anyone's heard of a ref getting fired? And calling out the refs embarrasses the league more than doing a piss-poor job? Sounds to me like they've got their priorities screwed up. I get that they don't want anarchy, but clean house and then worry about fining people for making comments.
-
I suspect the coach would be fined more because he's supposed to be setting the example. We all know ref is just another word for god, and gods are infallible and cannot be questioned. I think it's BS they fine anyone for voicing an opinion. Everyone on the planet can see how well or how pitiful they are doing their job. So what, we're not supposed to talk about it?
