This is my first nomination for Post of the Year!

I believe everyone's issue (besides yours) is that apparently the sun rises from He Who Shall Not Be Named's ass according to the league. It's embarrassing, it's blatant and extremely frustrating.

I've had angrier moments watching the Wings at home than some that are on this list!

This is all I've found so far: Red Wings RW Danny Cleary left the game late in the second period, after colliding with Calgary's Craig Conroy and taking a hit from the Flames' Mark Giordano. Cleary did not return. Babcock said the team would know more on Monday.

That's what I'm thinking. Usually if it's just a little something-or-other, it's at least mentioned. There hasn't been a single peep anywhere. I hope I'm wrong.

There has been nothing anywhere on Cleary's status. They didn't even mention it on the news or Sports Wrap Up or whatever it's called.

Not a peep thus far. If I hear anything on the news later, I'll be sure and post.

Seriously! Can you imagine how many people are kicking themselves right now for wanting to beat the traffic? Moral of the story: NEVER leave the game early.

Absolutely they deserve better. A long-standing, once proud franchise is in the pits of despair with no discernible way out. Much like the Hawks, once they regain some of their former glory it's back on the Public Enemy list, but for now they deserve our compassion.

Exactly. I wonder how long it will be before this ceases to amuse? I believe that the fact remains that this governing body isn't any different from the federal government in that they will abuse their power for as long as they can get aweay with it, and they will get away with it as long as we let them. Unfortunately, we can't vote these tools out of office. My guess is that others before me were entirely correct; absolutely nothing will come of this.

Forget spelling, forget grammar (in this case only!!), even forget the unprofessionalism; anyone stupid enough to commit these thoughts to the written word where it can come back to bite him in the ass isn't smart enough to hold any management position. They should check his texts - there's probably a fount of information in there as well.

Once again I am vindicated! All the Cleary haters can suck it. I saw a few sparks from Modano tonight, but that boy needs to get his butt in gear soon.

No one has said it's exclusive to St. Louis, but the Blues team motto is "If you can't beat 'em, beat 'em." The only other team in the NHL that comes close to the certainty of late-game thuggery is Calgary. Not having seen the game, I can't comment on your assertion that Columbus started it all. It's a little hard to believe, though. They're not generally known for physicality, so benefit of the doubt goes to them thus far. Sorry about Oshie.

I don't see that we can possibly fill that void no matter what. We will have to "spackle" as best we can, preferrably with a late-round draft pick that everyone else overlooked but is actually on par with our other famous late-rounders. Seriously, how much time and how much money did the Wings spend trying to replace Vladdy? And we never could. We've been very, very fortunate to have these types of irreplaceable players on our team. The problem is living with the void that is inevitably left when they're gone.

I know it's early, but I'm feeling a little vindicated right about now. I asked what he would bring to the table when the circus of signing him began. I am thus far unimpressed, as I suspected I would be. If he suddenly lights afire, I will eat my crow, but I'm not saving room. And Modano just reinforces my opinion.....
