I have already explained my jumping on the Hawks bandwagon for the WCF in the "Who do you root for now?" thread. The Sharks came out pretty lackadaisical in OT. If it weren't for Nabby, this game would be over by now.

Doesn't matter. Watching our series and now this one, you can't convince me SJ is better.

Chicago apparently is taking over for the Wings in the penalty department. SJ just scored on a 5 on 3 they got because the Hawks were playing hockey. *gasp* Sharks have had a disproportionate amount of 5 on 3s. They're not that good. They're not forcing teams to take penalties. What's the deal?

It's not just bandwagon fans that do that. Where do you think bandwagonners learned it? "Detroit Sucks" is the state motto.

I thought the same thing, and I was puzzled by my bandwagon allegiance to Chicago for the WCF. I had an epiphany last night. I understand now. It's because I identify with those long-downtrodden fans that stayed with the team all through Dollar Bill's shenanigans. They remind me of all the put-upon Wings fans that loved and suffered through the cellar-dwelling 80s to the powerhouse we know and love today. I'd like to see Montreal take them out in the SCF, but I for one am thrilled for the Hawks progress and am grateful that the Central is no longer a walk in the park.

I like to get my Crosby hate on as much as the next guy, but please let's not turn this into another Crosby thread.

We should form a support group. My rooting for the Hawks is completely visceral. It is beyond comprehension or justification.

Yes, I think there is some resentment on the part of these teams. Why not just call it the Pens Classic and be done with it then? And what about Toronto? Why shouldn't they be upset? Edmonton, Philly and Buffalo all appear before they do? There's some twisted marketing.

Slutty puckbunnies don't count as fans. I don't care about the whole marketing thing - if I were one of the 26 teams that hadn't been in the WC yet, I'd be fuming. This had better draw in some new fans, because a lot of current fans apparently won't be watching. Count me as one of those changing my oil or washing my hair during this one.

Lidstrom on Fox saying they lost the series through little things: wrong play at the wrong time, not winning faceoffs, not capitalizing on the PP. Says the Wings never lost confidence in themselves. Also says that right now it feels like it's going to take forever to get over this loss. He's going to sit down with Holland once everything settles down and decide his future from there.

Mike Ilitch was on 97.1 this morning. He said the Wings will play at the Joe next year, but they're really looking to build a new arena.

I lost my voice last game I went to and I fully intend on the same thing tonight. Unless the Wings completely s*** the bed, I anticipate a rockin' Joe.
