Tigers werent supposed to make the playoffs in '06... but they did. They faced the Big Bad Yankees in their first playoff series in 19 years with A-Rod and Jeter and Posada and Rivera and did not have a shot to compete with them... but they did. There is a reason why they actually play the games on the field and not on paper. What the hell fun is it if you don't even give them a chance if they beat every team in the division and are one of the 4 of 15 teams to make it to the playoffs? If you aren't tickled pink at the chance to see the tigers clinch a division title and make another shot at a championship, go watch ******* tennis, at least they make you shut up while you watch them.

This is what baseball in September is supposed to be... clawing tooth and nail against the 2nd place team for the division. The Yankees will have a good 3 weeks to get into a lull having wrapped up the division, and the Tigers have been in playoff mode for the last 3 weeks of the season. HUGE win today btw, magic number is down to 4.

royals are on a tear right now, so it could be a good thing that the twins play them. that being said, as long as we take care of our games, the division will be ours.

magic number is down to 9. We can gain a half game on the twins today, because when they don't play, they don't win. thats about the only way we can seem to make up any ground with them these days. we HAVE to take advantage of this.

Longtime Tigers broadcaster and current member of the baseball hall-of-fame Ernie Harwell has been diagnosed with an incurable tumor in the area of the bile duct. He is a legend in broadcasting and I am sure has made a lasting impression on anyone who ever listened to his voice on the radio or to those who have had the privilege of meeting him.
